My very best friend from high school’s dad was diagnosed with breast cancer. He was a doctor, a loving husband and a devoted father of three. Breast cancer showed that it does not discriminated based on age, race, gender, how well educated or financial standing. It effects even the best of the best. He battled the cruel disease for years before it took his life. The fight to find a cure has become that much more important to me knowing the destruction it had on people who I love so much! 1 in 8 women and 1 in 1,000 men will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime.
