Mom Does Reviews’ New Car Favorites for Teen Girls

August 15, 2016 by Victoria

Disclosure.New.3

My family is staring down the road of teen driving this year as both of our oldest two children are preparing to drive. We’re terrified.  There are so many factors going into teen driving today.  Was it this difficult when we started driving twenty-something years ago?

The great thing is, although the hoops we jump through to get a license is harder, new cars are easier!  Technology has come with a few perks that I am really glad my kids will have. Backup cameras, blind spot monitoring, park assist.  Really, our kids have very little margin for error while driving when your car alerts you that you could be doing it wrong! Take a look at a few of our favorites below.

3 New Car Favorites For Teen Girls

3 New Car Favorites For Teen Girls

Ford Focus

The Ford Focus is a great first car because it is affordable and has a lot of great features that come standard on any model. Did you know that each Ford Focus comes with a rearview backup camera, active park assist, and voice-activated technology?  These features are wonderful for any driver, especially an inexperienced one.

Ford C-Max Energi

I really love the idea of the Ford C-Max Energi.  Of course, buying the C-Max will allow for your teen daughter to keep her extra change (or your extra change).  Instead of her borrowing gas money from you, you can enjoy the savings for yourself — and may even enjoy it come tax time too!

In case you need another reason to keep the C-Max Energi near the top of your list, the Energi was this year’s Consumer Reports Best Electric Car/Plug-in Hybrid in it’s class!

Ford Mustang EcoBoost

Yes!  I put a Mustang on the list.  (I couldn’t help myself.)  The Ford Mustang 4 cylinder with EcoBoost isn’t the 5.0 you think about.  It is a beautiful car that is well worth the investment.  Unlike other first cars, Mustang owners tend to keep their Mustang longer.  When you buy a Mustang for your teen daughter, you’re buying a car she will likely take with her into her twenties. This is why the Ford Mustang made our list; buying a Mustang isn’t just a first car, it is a car that she will take with her for many years thereafter.

What was your first car?
