On any typical day, moms and women everywhere fight the good fight of everyday living. They move through their days with their eye on the prize of a long soak with their stress relief bath bombs! If your days are like mine, it starts in the mornings when I oversleep the alarm and from there, it goes downhill. Rushing kids out of the door is not easy! You finally make it to the car, only to find out one kid may not even have shoes on! You are already running late and now have to go back to the house.
Finally, after retrieving the shoes, you breath a sigh of relief that you are on your way. Oh no! Not a traffic jam! Can it get any worse? Yep! You arrive at work to a scowling boss, deadlines are swirling and the whole day is a rat race! You finally survive the workday, but only with the thought that now you are beginning the second part of your workday!
For most women, when the workday is finished there is another workday just beginning! You collect the kids, run errands and do the shopping. Then, you fight the traffic back home to a crazy mess in the house with heaps of laundry, supper to cook and kids to get bathed and settled. The only thing keeping you going is the thought of a long luxurious soak in the tub.
When the moment arrives for my bath time sanctuary, I love adding Lavender and Oatmeal Stress Relief Bath Bombs in my bath water. It is pure Heaven! Not only does the lavender work to relieve stress, oatmeal is great for softening and smoothing the skin! Yep! Pure Heaven! They are simple and easy to make and I promise you will be happy you took just a few of your precious minutes to make them 🙂
Lavender and Oatmeal Stress Relief Bath Bombs
Ingredients:
1 cup baking soda
1/2 cup corn starch
¼ cup of oatmeal
2 1/2 Tbsp. almond oil
¾ Tbsp. water
½- 1 tsp. lavender oil
Food Coloring (optional – if you like different coloring)
Directions:
In a large bowl mix baking soda, cornstarch and oatmeal and stir well.
Mix in almond oil and lavender oil.
Slowly add in the water. Add just enough water so that you are able to form a ball with the mix. You may need a little more or a little less depending on the humidity.
Fill your mold cups with a few tablespoons of mix so that it is filled about half way. I also added a small amount of oatmeal in before I added my mix to give it a nicer look and texture.
Allow all ingredients to dry overnight in the molds. I found a few ours later they were still crumbly, so overnight works perfect.
*Note: If for some reason you find your molds to still be a little crumbly in the morning simply pop them into a 350-degree oven for about 20 minutes and allow to cool completely.
* This recipe makes about 12 bath bombs depending on how thick you like them.
Store in a pretty jar or even a baggie will work.
Enjoy!
