Top 5 Products Parents Need In the Car!

Parents-Keep-Car

Each group of car owners have their own set of “bring alongs” they like to keep with them. Parents are no exception. We can take the most unconventional items and show you the best uses for them – in your car!  I guess you could say, parents are innovators.  We think out of the box and bring you the best ideas for a smooth trip anywhere!  Here are my top five things parents need to keep in their car:

Towels. I have a set of small towels, hand towels, and wash cloths that I keep in my car for emergencies and as my backup for whatever comes my way.  Regardless if my child has an accident, the seat is too hot, window has build-up, or if a child becomes ill – I’m always ready!  Purchase inexpensive towels of a solid color you would never use in your home to help distinguish where they belong.   My “car towel” set is black. I know if I see a black towel floating around my house it needs to make its way back to the car as soon as it is washed again.

Water Bottles.  I keep a water bottle under every seat in my car for a variety of reasons.  1.  If we are in an emergency situation, everyone has something to drink. 2) I can clean anything with a wash cloth and water!

Safety Kit.  Speaking of emergencies, every family should have a safety kit in their car. Road flares, seatbelt cutters, small (empty) gas can, and first-aid are the basics, but the rest of the contents will vary based upon your location and where you drive most.

Cleaning wipes.  Parents of babies and toddlers will find cleaning wipes most helpful when they are shopping.  Park next to the shopping cart return, pull your shopping cart from the holder, wipe clean with your own cleaning wipes, and get shopping!  You will never have to worry about the store running out of wet wipes at the entry again!

Power Inverter.  We have found so many uses for our power inverter I may need another post devoted directly to it! Having the ability to plug-in a device like you do at home is a great tool, especially if you have a bottle-fed baby, preschoolers with tablets, or need to plug something in you didn’t plan.  We accidentally purchased the wrong air pump while camping once during a primitive camping trip.  Because we had our power inverter with us, we were able to air our mattress up anyway!

What is the best item you keep in your car?

Were any of your favorites on my list?
