April is Earth Month!
It’s the perfect time to get kids interested in caring for the planet. EMA encourages families to get outside and appreciate nature, but they realize kids these days spend a lot of time in front of computer and phone screens. For this reason, they are promoting an educational, fun for the whole family app called Magic Beach that promotes eco-stewardship. The app is based on a book by Crockett Johnson.
About EMA:
The Environmental Media Association believes that through television, film and music, the entertainment community has the power to influence the environmental awareness of millions of people. This initial concept set the stage for our 1989 launch and it remains a core EMA tenet today.
About the Magic Beach App:
The Magic Beach is an enchanting interactive storybook based on the classic book “Magic Beach” written by renowned children’s author, Crockett Johnson.
The Magic Beach is an interactive eco-friendly playground filled with a host of unique, quirky characters and educational mini-games. Aid young protagonists, Ann and Ben, on their quest to help restore the beach to its former glory and help a disheartened king reclaim his throne. This imaginative story is suited for young readers, while the humor and unique art style will engage adventurers of all ages.
Throughout the story, players will encounter guided spelling challenges, original animated characters and challenging mini-games. Watch as the beach’s magical waves wash over the written word, creating new characters and objects.
