Mascot Books  presents Is My Cup Empty? by Sherri Graves Smith. This is a story of optimism, inspired by Sherri’s own life. Sherry Graves Smith created the Lil’ Sherri character after her own first grade school pictures, and hopes to offer stories of hope, faith, wisdom, and optimism.

Optimism is always a great quality. Why look at the gloomy side of things when the bright side is more cheerful and can raise spirits? Why see the sky as mostly cloudy when you can see it as partly sunny?

In Is My Cup Empty?, Lil’ Sherri discovers that if your cup is empty, plenty of drinks can fill it up. If you’re lonely, have friends over to play. If you are bored, help someone and brighten their day.

This is a story that helps you see everyday occurrences in a new light. It will help your child (and yourself) to see things differently. For example, if your day feels empty, go outside and ride a bike, spend time with family or help someone out. This will not only fill your time, but you can enjoy the outdoors, spend time with your friends and family, or help someone get chores completed. Spending your day doing valuable things makes you and others happy.

If you know that someone is sick, fill a basket and bring them some cheer. People get colds and other illnesses. This does not make anyone happy. But, if you go over to their house and cheer them up, sit with them, or even play a board game with them, their day will get much better and so will yours.

Is My Cup Empty? teaches everyone that you don’t have to do a lot to influence others. When someone sees you helping or having a good time, they will want to do the same. Happiness is contagious. Looking at the bright side should be as well. Optimism is a great way to start your day, week and year. Happier people tend to enjoy life and all it has to offer. Children should learn this lesson earlier in life so that they spread the love to others.

The Is My Cup Empty? book comes with your own inspirational card kit. With these cards, stickers and embellishments, your child can created pick-me-ups for those you love. This book and card package would make a great gift for any child and is available now.
