“Frozen” Inspired Tulle Wreath #MDRChristmas #Craft

Wreaths are beautiful to look at, and can come in so many different styles.  I have always loved wreaths. I love the smell of the fresh ones and I love the varieties you can have.  I have one made of bells, and one made of artificial tree boughs that never die.  

My latest DIY Wreath project is light and can hang anywhere. My house at Christmas tends to lean toward blue, teal, white, and silver.  Therefore, to match my other decor, I decided to do a blue and white tulle wreath with snowflakes. The kids call it a Frozen wreath!  I didn’t initially intend for it to be a Frozen wreath, but they are right! I think this wreath would be perfect for Christmas, winter decor, and even a  Frozen party!

Materials

• 30 yards blue tulle
• 30 yards white tulle
• scissors
• ruler
• floral foam wreath
• hot glue gun
• four snowflakes

Directions:

Take the tulle and unroll it.  I cut strips into 24 inch sections using my ruler.  The rolls were 6 inch wide.  After I cut a stack of tulle in both colors,  I started taking one piece at a time and knotting it around the foam wreath.  I then took the alternating color and tied it around the foam wreath.  I continued wrapping and knotting tulle all the way around the wreath.  Make sure you end on the opposite color at the end, so two of the same color are not touching.  I had to condense some of my stripes to make that happen.  The tulle slides well when pushed along the foam wreath.

Once all your tulle is on the wreath, you can fluff it and arrange the wisps of tulle to your liking.  I like mine long, but you could trim the ends, or cut your tulle shorter to begin with.  That may be necessary especially if your foam wreath is thinner.  (Check a piece of tulle before you cut your strips.)

Heat up your glue gun.  While waiting for that take a piece of the tulle and slip it under the knot of the middle most piece of tulle of your wreath.  Loop it through and tie it, this is your loop to hang your new wreath.  

Lay out your snowflakes or other embellishments where you want them to go.  Then glue them on with your hot glue.  You are done besides figuring out where your lovely Frozen wreath will go.  Enjoy!
