I received the ZyXel Wireless range extender in a very timely manner from ZyXel Communications Inc. On our first try of setting it up we could not get it to connect. We tried a desktop and a laptop. The average person probably will not be able to get this set up on their own.
We called tech support and they were very friendly and helpful. They walked my son (age 23) and I through the steps and it worked in a short amount of time. I would say we were probably on the phone less than 10 minutes.
The unit needs to be plugged into the wall and the computer to be set up. Once it has been set up, then it can be unplugged from the computer and can be plugged into the outlet only. Once we got it set, it certainly gave a better wi-fi signal to the upstairs rooms of our home. My son is enjoying this since he streams a lot of movies, tv shows, and does some video blogs, himself.
