My children draw a lot. I have art hanging on the fridge, framed in my room, and in folders to save for later. I love to see them express on paper the amazing things going on in their heads. Budsies offers a novel way to take their art and create a toy that will last, and one that is huggable at that.
About Budsies
Budsies first launched in 2013, by Founder and Ceo Alex Furmansky. Budsies is located in South Florida and has created over 13,000 Budsies for people across 63 countries. Alex first came up with the idea for Budsies when he saw his little sister hugging her stuffed animals and tucking them in at night. He was much older than Michelle and witnessed her art over the years go from hanging on the fridge to being stored in boxes out of sight. This brought this question to mind:
What if I could turn a drawing into a stuffed animal friend that would last forever?
Then all children could have their own buddies to love and hold close. There was where the name came from and the idea mesmerized Alex, to be able to bring his sister’s drawings to life!
Budsies makes original Budsies, stuffed toys from artwork, Budsies Selfies, stuffed toys from pictures of people, and Petsies, stuffed toys from pictures of pets. Mom’s Thoughts
One of my Budsies was that of a snowy owl. It was a drawing done in chalk. The owl was wearing a scarf because even owls get cold.
The quality of the stuffed toy when it arrived was very good. The plush was very soft and cuddly. I really didn’t know what to expect, and was very surprised at the details they captured into my daughter’s owl. The scarf was separate, not just colored onto the owl. The beak stands out. It is a fantastic representation of the picture sent in. They emailed us during each step, and at one point asked me to clarify what color I wanted the body. The chalk looked gray white, when it was just supposed to be a white body. Before doing anything they checked with me. Very good customer interaction. It took a little while, but for what they create, I can see why. This isn’t done as fast as can be to make as many as possible. They care about the quality of their finished product. The materials are great and the final owl is so cool. My daughter loves it!
This is our dog Budsie. We have a sweet dog named Macy, and my son wanted a toy that looked like her. This picture was his take on how she looks. The chalk picture captured her long ears, and the heart shaped white spot on her head. She has freckles on her nose and paws. The toy that he received was so detailed. She even has whiskers. The ears are soft and floppy. The eyes are big and sweet. Her freckles are all stitched on. The heart shaped white spot is on her stuffed self. She was wearing a pink collar with the yellow heart, but he can take it off her. The tag even says her name. I am amazed at the great toy he ended up with. This toy dog will be with him forever, he can always remember his chalk picture of his favorite dog. Plus this sweet, huggable, soft dog smells really good and clean, unlike the pet she was drawn after.
Thank you Budsies! We love our new huggable friends!
