My children love sharing their Christmas list. They want to share it with everyone: grandparents, aunts, uncles, our friends, the cashier at the grocery store, the delivery man — whomever mistakenly asks them “what do you want for Christmas this year?”
I love letting them chat happily about everything that makes them excited at Christmas time, but I can just see the look of “Oh, dear Lord, someone help me!” on the faces of those they are in conversation with. I want to help them… but then again, my kid is so happy!…I just can’t!
This year I am letting my crew get all of their “wish-list” talking out of their system by letting them talk to the elves in the North Pole directly! I mean, who better than Santa should a child give their wish list to than Santa’s Elves? Right?
This is no joke! My kids are having a ball writing letters, sending photos, and interacting with a real elf in the North Pole at some point every day from 8 am until 8 pm! Each of my youngest children have a preference on what feature they like best on Elf Live. My ten year-old young reader and writer really likes being able to chat with an Elf though a chat feature.
My five year-old just likes to make as many pictures as possible for the elves to look at so he can hear them say his name and what he wants.
“Oh, wow! [child’s name] says he wants a new nerf gun this year!”
“Thank you for sending us the Gingerbread Man {child’s name}!”
I couldn’t believe it when heard the elves saying his name for he first time. I was a little taken back and so was he. While making a confused/silly face, he says, “wait a minute! They just said my name! Wh-aaa-tt!”
He immediately ran out of my lap and took the iPad to his little sister so he could tell her what happened. For almost an hour the two of them sat together making pictures and telling the elves what they wanted for Christmas!
Afterwards, my youngest found the Elfie feature and she began making silly faces with our tablet’s camera so she could add fun elf ears.
All of theses features are really amazing and engaging the children, but…
What I’m really looking forward to is the Santa Tracker
