What are you filling your Christmas Stockings with this year? I remember when I was a kid, we got small toys, coloring books, crayons books, candy, a new toothbrush and more . There wasn’t an electronic device in sight (of course, they didn’t have many back then) Christmas took ALL DAY at our house! We all opened our Stockings before Breakfast. After breakfast, we each opened one gift at a time, with scissors. Yes, my frugal mom saved Christmas paper, and still does! Since there were 4 kids and 2 parents and usually my Grammie, it took HOURS to open all the gifts. When I look back on it now, I can appreciate those Christmas mornings. We each saw what the other person received and thanked the giver right then.
Now that I have a family of my own, my hubby didn’t have the same Christmas Morning traditions like mine. We had to compromise and make our own traditions. We always do our Stockings first, but then my son usually rips into his pile of presents. The last few years he has played “Santa” and handed out one present per person to open. So, it isn’t one at a time, but three at a time is pretty close!
