Pen Heaven! #shopletreviews

May 25, 2012 by Pam Maynard

Need a Pen or Highlighter?

We have a love relationship with office supplies in our house.  Paper is our first love, they pens! My husband has to have just the right ballpoint pen, blue ink, flows and feels just right, the whole bit.  I love any kind of pen that feels good when you write with it.  My son loves Sharpie Highlighters for his school work and art projects.

The Paper Mate InkJoy 700 RT Ballpoint Pen – I know why it’s called InkJoy!  It feels so good when it you write with it, it makes you smile.  There is not ink splatter or dragging when you write.  It’s so easy you want to keep writing.  It’s very comfortable.  The shape is similar to an hourglass, not thick and chunky like some pens.  It’s not too thin like the Paper Mate pens you get 10 for $1.  Of course the cute little hearts in the logo and on clip are fun too.

Some additional features of the InkJoy 700: It’s a retractable ballpoint, medium tip, 1.0 mm.  It’s refillable and comes in black, blue and red ink.

The Sharpie Premium Pen- My son and I are “sharing” this one.  It feels so smooth to write with, you want to get out a notebook and write a novel.  It is definitely a high-quality writing experience.  The lines are smear resistant, it doesn’t leave a smudge on your hand or run if you touch it before it dries.  It’s also permanent, like a regular Sharpie permanent marker.  I will use it for labeling things.  It’s refillable.  It has a soft grip under the cap.  The only think I would change would be to make it a retractable pen.  Other than that, it’s a dream to use!  It feels good just to hold it!

Sharpie Gel Highlighters– These highlighters are so different than the regular “marker” type.  They have a gel stick that doesn’t smear the ink that you are highlighting.  It almost feels like a waxy ink.  It doesn’t bleed through paper so you can use it on thin pages, such as a Bible or glossy paper.  The Highlighters will never dry out if you leave them uncapped.  These highlighters last as long as others, well, probably longer since they don’t dry out.  It’s so much fun to highlight things, especially when you are reading a book for school or a book to review.  Then you can find important parts easily.  I can do it on my Kindle Fire, now I can do it easily in a “real” book.

Disclosure: I was given the products above for reviews purposes.  I was not given any monetary compensation.  All opinions are 100% my own.
