Go to Atlantis Resort- Lots of Kids Activities!

May 24, 2012 by Pam Maynard

Top 10 Kid Activities in Atlantis Resort

Atlantis Resort offers fun activities for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens. Some of the activities at Atlantis have specific age and size limits.

Water Park

The water park at Atlantis is called “Aquaventure,” a 141-acre park filled with water slides, pools, rapids and caves. There are five major slides in the park, including the frightening “Leap of Faith,” which offers a 60-foot drop into a lagoon filled with sharks outside of the transparent tube. “The Current” is a water ride which allows kids to ride on a tube for one mile of waves and artificial tidal surges.

Gamer’s Reef

Gamer’s reef provides arcade entertainment for kids of all ages. Many of the games are interactive, allowing many kids to play together. Parents can even compete against their children in such games as Top Skater, Star Wars and Jurassic Park.

Atlantis Pals

“Atlantis Pals” allows kids to create their very own stuffed animal from scratch. They start by choosing the type of animal they want to create, from bears to dogs to flamingos. Then they choose clothing style and accessories for their pal.

Swimming Pools

Atlantis has eleven different pools and 20 different swimming areas. Three of their pools are specifically designed to please kids. “Poseidon” has a large water fountain and has animal figures that kids can slide down. “Splashers” pool is suitable for young children, with depths not exceeding three feet. There are plenty slides, ropes and cannons to keep the kids having fun for a long time. “Ripples” features a series of water slides for children of all ages.

Snuba

Most kids are not ready for scuba diving, but that does not mean they cannot enjoy “snuba” diving at Atlantis. Snuba allows guests to breath underwater and take in a world filled with marine life, without having to worry about gaining scuba certification and training. Atlantis invites guests as young as eight years to enjoy their snuba adventures.

Dolphin Interaction

Atlantis offers both shallow water interaction and deep sea swims with dolphins. The shallow water interaction allows children to swim closely with Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins. Kids can touch, hug and kiss the dolphins. Up to 10 guests at a time can interact with the dolphins for a 30 minute period. All ages and swimming levels are welcome in the area. The Paradise Island Dolphin Cay at Atlantis is 14 acres and 6.6 million gallons of water.

Snorkeling Ruins of Atlantis

The “Ruins of Atlantis” marine exhibit displays artifacts inspired by Atlantis. It also displays exotic marine life such as sleek sharks, rays, snappers and spiny lobster. It also has thousands of pelagic fish. All snorkelers must be at least eight years old.

Sea Lion Tour

Kids can tour Atlantis’ “Sea Lions Behind the Scenes” to get their picture taken with sea lions. The tour also shows off the medical and rescue center, where marine animals are cared for and fed.

Movie Theater

Atlantis has a movie theater that plays the latest Hollywood films. The theater also has a concession stand where your kids can purchase snacks and beverages. Give your children an Atlantis gift card to control spending.

Fish Feeding

Fish feeding is a great activity for young children between the ages three and five. The feeding takes place in the shallow water lagoon at Atlantis Resort. Children participate in the feeding of exotic marine life in the Estuary Lagoon. Only five children are chosen to participate in the 20 minute feeding each day; feeding days are from Tuesday through Saturday. Children must be potty-trained and no taller than 48 inches tall to participate.

Atlantis Resort offers unique and unforgettable experiences for kids as they explore marine life, play in the water facilities, and relax with indoor entertainment options. No matter their age or interests, every kid will find plenty of fun activities at Atlantis.
