With over 500 cafes from Melbourne to Sydney supplying Calmer Sutra Tea, the decision was made to expand to the U.S. in 2014 where tea and honey are hand blended in Brooklyn, NY.
Fresh ginger root and farm honey coats each tea leaf and Indian spice making Calmer Sutra Tea’s ‘wet’ loose leaf tea uniquie from other Chai. These gentle infusions require refrigeration to preserve the active ingredients and guarantee freshness. Each blend has it’s own delightful aroma that is truly divine.
My favorite so far is Peppermyntle with Ginger Infused Honey. Each sip provides a delicious mixture of subtle peppermint, followed by a sweet ginger kick. I have always been a huge fan of Chai and Ginger. These two complement each other well. However, if you’re not a huge fan of Ginger, they also have Hiranya Chai Spiced Honey that includes Indian spices in the Honey. It is a delicious add in as well.
If you’re more into the traditional black teas without all the frill, you’ll want to try Evermore. It is great as a stand alone or with milk and sugar. All you’ll need is a mesh strainer to put in your cup or teapot to brew the tea and you’re all set!
