Casio Watches have been around for decades. But when you hear the name Casio, you not only think of watches, you think of calculators, printers, computers, cameras and other electronic devices. Casio Corporation was founded in April of 1946 in Tokyo, however, they didn’t produce their first watch until November of 1974.
“Casio timepieces provide accurate time information anywhere, all the time. They boast rich functionality that provides users with a variety of useful data, not just the time. Casio aims to provide watches that allow people to expand their horizons and enjoy life more.”
The classic timepiece I am going to be talking about is the LTPS100D-7BV otherwise known as the Classic 3 hand Casio with upgraded features. This silver toned stainless steel watch is water resistant, solar powered, and has a date display on the face of the watch. The white face and silver toned color makes this piece neutral enough to be worn with almost any outfit. It’s casual enough to be worn to a ball game or dressy enough to be worn out to dinner with friends.
Another neat feature that has been mentioned is that this timepiece is waterproof. My mother has worn Casio watches for years. She never liked the bands that were fitted to her wrists, she liked the stretchy bands, but the watches lasted. She would wear them until the faces were so scratched up that she couldn’t see the watch hands. I immediately thought of her when I saw this watch.
This is an updated version of the watches that she has purchased in the past. I called her and asked her what kind of watch she was currently wearing. She told me, “A Casio that I bought about 10 years ago.” I giggled because I knew it to be true. She doesn’t stray from what she knows will work.
This new watch has the classic look that I’ve known all my life, however, the new solar power is nice because it means as long as the sun gets to the face of the watch, it’ll stay tickin’. If the watch stops, place the watch in a sunny window for about 8 hours and it will “charge” up.
My thoughts on this Classic Look Casio? It’s simple, waterproof, tough, and it works. I know because I’ve known the brand my whole life and they’ve never failed. They have always worked. I know that it will outlast many of these higher dollar brands that have designer names. I know that because they’ve got something that most of these brands don’t have…they’ve paid their dues and stood the test of time.
