Do you know what Glamping is?
It’s a term used for Glamour Camping- it’s camping for those of us that don’t want to sleep on the ground in a small tent with spiders and bugs all around. And where can you do this “Glamping?” I’m glad you asked! I was invited by al fresco All Natural to a special event at FireLight Camps in Ithaca, NY to cook, socialize, meet new friends and Glamp with the best of them. I wasn’t sure what to expect, (read about that here) but I was super excited by the FireLight Website- everything looked so beautiful and serene. And I wasn’t disappointed! It WAS beautiful and serene and FUN!

Imagine waking up in this bed- doesn’t it look amazingly comfortable? Well it was! This is what GLAMPING is all about- putting Glamour and comfort back into camping. Even if you DESPISE camping, you’ll love Glamping at FireLight Camps! In fact, I loved it so much, we are making plans as a family to visit next summer!
How about enjoying a quiet, early morning cup of coffee on this deck, right outside your bedroom? You can do that at FireLight Camps. You don’t even have to make the coffee- just grab a cup or 2 in the Communal Tent!
These private “tents” are bigger than my living room! They are bigger than some people’s apartments! The deluxe “tent” I stayed in had an amazing King Sized bed and a futon! It could easily sleep a family of 4!
The Luxury Tents have:
- Hardwood flooring
- Mesh screening to keep the critters out
- A king or queen bed, 300 thread count linens
- Covered porch
- Battery powered lanterns (there is no electricity in the tents)
- Complimentary continental breakfast
It has a “rustic chic” look, don’t you think?
Did I mention that FireLight Camps doesn’t have port-a-potties, they have REAL Bathrooms- complete with showers, fluffy white towels and amazing all natural body wash, shampoo and conditioner! Here is the view of the Glampground from the Bath House:
Yes, Glamping is fun! I am a believer now! My family went camping last weekend, and all I could think about was my huge, comfy bed back at FireLight Camps!
The whole reason I went Glamping was to participate in an Iron Chef Competition with 9 other Food Bloggers, sponsored by al fresco All Natural Chicken Sausage. You can read about all the fun we had and the amazing recipes we came up with HERE.
At night, we had so much fun around the campfire! Not only did we make amazing HomeMade S’mores, but we played games and told stories that made us laugh until we cried.
