Even if you haven’t seen Inside Out yet you probably already have your favorite character. For me, I like Joy, Disgust, Fear, and Anger the best! ….. really, I can’t decide. Can you tell? I think TOMY toys would be happy if we collect them all; they are all so great.
TOMY Toys is bringing the rich characters and colorful personalities of Inside Out to life in the real world with its line of magical toys including Riley’s five emotions: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust. The toys (available NOW) are character-driven, each showcasing the diverse personalities and distinct qualities of the characters in the animated film.
Last week Joy and Anger arrived in our house, just in time. My five year old was in the middle of a melt-down because he was refusing to accept medication for a sudden rash that appeared on his back. When I gave him Anger, his fear subsided and he allowed me to proceed. Since then, Anger has been his little buddy.

The Inside Out Talking Plush from TOMY toy are a great size for children of almost any age. I originally thought they were a little small, but after seeing my toddler and preschooler playing with them I think they are perfect. Baby girl can easily carry Joy and Anger around without losing her balance or sight of where she is going. Joy (or Anger) can be grabbed by the hand and taken upstairs or in the car; I like that she can do this easily, on her own.
Each Inside Out Talking Plush has several sayings that can be initiated by pressing an easy button on their hand. I think Joy is slightly louder than Anger but it may just be the tone difference that is giving the illusion that one is louder than the other. See the video below to hear them yourself.
The overall design of the toys are really good. I think Anger is perfect and very well made. Even his speaker box is placed inside in a seamless way inside of his head. The opening is hidden by his shirt collar and can go unnoticed until you begin looking for it.
I don’t love Joy’s design as much as I do Anger. Something appears different to me and I can’t place it. Her speaker box is located in her body and isn’t hidden very well either. I don’t dislike her, I just don’t like her as much as I do Anger.
I think these toys are perfect for anyone, and any age. All of my kids love them an like to press the buttons. They make great mood boosters when I put them on my desk when I work too (smile).
You can pickup the Inside Out Talking Plush at your favorite retailers online or in the store. Please visit TOMY for more information.
