Two Quick Prep Recipes

May 1, 2012 by Pam Maynard

My Favorite Quick Prep Dinner and Dessert Recipes

Guest post by Taryn at Mom of One Having Fun

I just wanted to share my 2 favorite recipes with everyone. I know many moms don’t have time to cook, make things from scratch or anything too time consuming- especially with a screaming baby. So I picked my favorite quickly made dinner and dessert to share with everyone. These recipes VERY easy to make- perfect for busy moms!

Tater Tot Casserole

1 small can Cream of Mushroom Soup (I hate mushrooms, but trust me you don’t taste them. Can replace with Cream of Celery Soup if you prefer.) 1 bag Tater Tots Shredded Cheese 1 lb of Ground Hamburger Meat Serves 6 or 7
Brown hamburger meat. Add cream of mushroom soup and stir together continuously. Let simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Place mixture in the bottom of a casserole dish. Lay tater tots neatly on top of the mixture. Place in oven on 350′ and let the tater tots brown. Sprinkle with cheese; melt it in the oven and ENJOY. *I find it tastes best with ketchup. **Hint to Avoid Possibly Messing Up: Cook tater tots first… to the crispiness that you like. Then brown meat and continue.

Chocolate Cream Pie

1 1/2 cup Cold Milk 2 packages (4 serving size) Instant Jell-o Chocolate Pudding & Pie Filling Mix 1 tub (12 ounces) Cool Whip, thawed 1 (6 ounce size) prepared Oreo crust Optional: 3 or 4 crushed Oreos Serves: 6
Pour milk into large bowl. Add pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk 1 minute (mixture will be thick). Gently stir in 1/2 the tub of the whipped topping. Spoon into crust. Garnish with remaining whipped topping. Sprinkle on crushed Oreos. Refrigerate 4 hours or until set. (Suggest 2 hour minimum, however who can wait that long?)
