About the Flower Rally:
On April 25th, 2015, Josh, one of our founding Rally members, decided to take a run around Audubon Park in our hometown of New Orleans, LA. He witnessed a thirty-something female verbally bashing what seemed to be her mother. While we may never know if the altercation was between mother and daughter and whether the argument was well-founded, the incident got us thinking. Have we taken our mothers for granted? Have we maybe said things to our mothers that shouldn’t have been said? What about those mothers that have given their hearts to only be consistently forgotten?
I think we all know the honest answers to these questions. We tend to take much for granted. It is part of the human condition. Especially, when it concerns those who have given us the most support in life. For most, a mother or maternal figure is a shelter from the storm, a friend who is always there through the good, the beautiful, the bad, and the ugly times in our life. We believe that there is a better way to honor those who have given so much and expect so little.
So, we decided to be the change. We began to explore ways to give back to those female figures who have been there through thick and thin, particularly those who are currently experiencing some sort of hardship. This is how Flower Rally was born.
Flower Rally’s vision is to hand deliver care packages that consist of a single-flower floral arrangement, a hug, and heartwarming message of appreciation to a mother who may need it most on Mother’s Day Morning, May 10th, 2015. Our team, consisting mostly of volunteers, will deliver these packages across the United States. Our goal is to hand out at least one million of these care packages, but the magnitude of Flower Rally’s endeavor is in your hands.
We need your help. If you purchase a membership with Flower Rally, you will receive access to our members-only posting so that you can share your own stories with our community. More importantly, your purchase will sponsor two Flower Rally Mother’s Day Care Packages. This is just as much your endeavor as it is ours so spread the word to friends and family. Let’s challenge ourselves to see how much of an effect our movement can create. The spread of happiness on Mother’s Day will radiate through out future interactions and make things a little bit better for everyone.
