In this world of highly connected social media- addicted, stressed-out people, we all need to get up and go live our life outside!  Even if it’s only a few times a week, unplug and get back to the family fun in the backyard.    Not only will it reduce stress, it will bring your family closer together.  One of my favorite memories is our weekends we used to spend on the lake in an old powerboat that wasn’t much to look at, but we were together and we had fun.  We would find our own little island in the middle of a huge lake, spread out a big blanket on the lush green grass and have a picnic.  There was no traffic, no noisy neighbors, no cell phones ringing, actually there were no cell phones to ring.  (Yes, I admit, growing up we did not have a cell phone- yes, I guess that shows my age.) 

We used to visit our relatives that lived north of us in Maine and spend hours swimming, playing volleyball in the sand and badminton and croquet on the grass.    I believe that we should get back to living outside and one of my favorite things to enjoy is a beautiful lawn.  Guess who else loves a beautiful lawn?  Yes, TruGreen believes more life should be lived outside and they are the lawn experts!  A lush and amazing lawn inspires lifelong connections with family, friends, neighbors and communities.  I know I am more happier, more fulfilled when I spend time outside.  My hubby loves to get outside and work.  He was born and raised in Florida so he think of himself as a lawn master.  Here are some things he does to keep our lawn looking amazing:

• Take a few extra minutes to do some edging around trees, rock gardens and more.  It gives your lawn a more finished look.
• Fertilize and/or wee and feed in early spring.  Be sure to do it right before it rains to get maximum effect.
• Plant perennials and shrubs on those hard to mow slopes so you don’t have to mow.
• Water responsibly!
