We have had dogs all our lives- whether it was growing up, or married with our own child growing up. Dogs have made our lives richer, fuller, and less stressful. I try to live by the motto “Wag more, Bark Less,” but we all know that’s easier said than done. No matter how much I try to be like Marley, sometimes I don’t succeed.
Marley, our 7 year old Border Collie, is the best dog we have ever owned. He has the best eye contact, is the easiest to train, most responsive, and smartest dog (probably) in the world. (Okay, I’m a little biased, I admit.) He is the first dog we have been able to bring into his favorite store without being embarrassed. He loves PetSmart, and everyone at PetSmart loves him. He doesn’t pull on the leash, he doesn’t pee on the toys, and he doesn’t chase or growl at other dogs. The only problem is, usually, when I go to PetSmart to get his Purina® Pro Plan®, it’s on my way home from work. So unfortunately, he does get left out of his favorite shopping trip when I go to PetSmart, but my Hubby is sure to take him when he leaves from home.
Not only is PetSmart Marley’s favorite store, but it is our whole family’s favorite store. Where else can you walk in to buy Purina® Pro Plan® and walk out with 2 guinea pigs, crickets for your bearded dragons and an appointment with the groomer? Honestly, what would I do without PetSmart? I can’t imagine how we survived without it. It’s so convenient for me being on my way home from work. It’s easy on and off exit from the highway.
Why do I love PetSmart so much? I’m glad you asked!
Of course, the main reason is because I am an animal lover and PetSmart is filled with all things animal!
I like to use my time wisely. PetSmart is well organized and labeled. Everything is organized by type, size, color and more. I can find each item I need with just a glance at the signs at the beginning, and end, of each row. When I’m getting Marley’s Purina® Pro Plan®, I know it will be on the “Dog” side of the store, down the aisle marked “Purina® Pro Plan®”. I know it will be there, or very close to it, the next time I shop there too.
The employees are PetSmart are all very friendly and helpful. Most times I visit, I get asked by at least two employees if they can help me. They always have a smile to share and a few words of wisdom when I have questions.

On a funny note- I have a little trick to get your pup to look alert and peppy when you are taking their picture. Our Border Collie, Marley, is obsessed with any little creatures that move. We have guinea pigs, turtles, bearded dragons, iguanas and even dust bunnies. He will stare at the guinea pigs for hours up in their cage. He LOVES it when we hold the bearded dragons. He will NOT take his eyes off of them. In this picture, it’s just me and him outside trying to take a picture with his new favorite food. He looks like he’s in trouble.
Now look at this picture below. It was 5 minutes later with my hubby holding a bearded dragon behind me. See how alert he is and ready to do his “job”? This trick works great for Border Collies or any other dogs that have “jobs” like mine do! Apparently, one of his favorite springtime activities is rolling in the chicken droppings in the backyard. Yes, someone will need a bath. Guess where I got my dog shampoo? You are right- at PetSmart!
