What is Zevia?
Soda. Pretty plain and simply, Zevia is soda but better. Zevia was created with the miracle ingredient, stevia, which makes it all natural and zero calories. Never any sugar or artificial sweeteners mean it’s a healthier soda for you and those that you love.
What is stevia?
A miracle plant. We think so anyway. Stevia is a little green plant from the sunflower family and originally native to South America. The stevia leaf is up to 300x sweeter than sugar but has no caloric value or effect on blood sugar levels. Super safe? Yes. Sweet? Yes. Worthy of a trophy? We think so.
My Review:
My husband and I have been stevia users since it first came out. It is a great substitute for sugar or nutra-sweet. I was excited to get my Zevia 6-pack to review so we could try a soda sweetened with stevia. Our 6-pack came with Grape soda, Cola, Dr (Zevia)Pepper, Grapefruit, Moutain Dew and Black Cherry. My son loves it. He tried the Grape Zevia and wanted more. It contains no dyes, no purple color to worry about spilling on the couch or carpet. I love that is has no calories and no caffeine so it is safe for kids. Actually, only 3 of their sodas contain caffeine:
Cola – 45mg / 12oz can
Dr. Zevia – 42mg / 12oz can
Mountain Zevia – 55mg / 12oz can
My husband likes the Grapefruit Citrus Zevia. It is refreshing and tastes much better than those other fake sodas. This flavor is also clear. I love that it has natural ingredients, no need to worry about food dye allergies.
I like the Dr Zevia the best. I tried the Cola, but i am a Diet Coke fan and I just couldn’t get used to the Zevia Cola taste. The Dr. Zevia has some caffeine, which I need, and a taste similar to Dr. Pepper. The only thing I couldn’t get used to is the slight aftertaste of the Stevia. I’m sure over time, I would get used to it.
