Through the course of this review the only thing I could think was “New moms need this!” Mom’s need to sleep when baby sleeps, eat when baby eats, and all that fun stuff. They do NOT need to be worrying about vacuuming… especially those who are recovering from c-sections and difficult deliveries.
Every stay-at-home mom I know vacuums their home daily but could be using that time more wisely. It takes almost thirty minutes out of the day to run a complete vacuum on the entire home. That is several hours a week gone! That is over thirteen days a year! The Neato XV Signature Pro can give you back that time with your family. Time is never more important than what it is right now!
Why Neato?
When I opened my Neato XV Signature Pro I was immediately overwhelmed by the instructions. I want my Neato to simplify my busy life, I didn’t want to read instructions. I really hope Neato Robotics will consider providing setup instruction videos that are easy to find on their website for new users. It is a robotics product, after all, I don’t want to rely on paper instructions. I am very glad I was able to push the setup responsibility off on my guys – what a life saver they were!
Our home has three levels but only one really needs the daily cleaning that can be provided by the Signature Pro. The kitchen, living room, and office are where we spend the majority of our time. Our flooring is a combination of wood, tile, and carpet. I should also tell you that we run a pet sitting service inside our home, Camp Wags. This means pet hair can be a big problem for us if we are not diligent to remove it. There are days when I feel like the pet hair is a never-ending battle that must be conquered several times a day. I have to stop periodically and collect hair, either by hand, a quick sweep, or a vacuum. I’d much rather enjoy all of my time with the adorable furry friends that come for a visit (and my own furry family).
It was interesting to see how the Neato performed on the various flooring types we have. I thought it would be a challenge for the robot – it wasn’t. The pet hair was easily collected to be tossed away. All I had to do was remove the collection bin that from the top of the machine, toss the dirt into the trash, and replace. Once the initially setup was complete, the Signature Pro required very little from me. I didn’t even need to return it to the charging doc, it did that all on its own too!
I am surprised at how well the Neato XV Signature Pro Robotic Vacuum works on our multiple flooring types and with the pet hair challenges. I did clean the brushes frequently, but it was a choice I made in an effort to prevent the pet hair from winding around the brush. I understand proper cleaning can be vital to insure accurate cleaning performance when you have pets.
Note: I cannot recommend that you toss your hand held vacuum as we all have our own cleaning preferences. While the Neato may be perfectly sufficient for some, your traditional vacuum may still be needed during heavy cleaning sessions.
