Silver Dolphin Books have a new line of Play-Doh, hands on learning, books available that are so wonderful my kids ran away with them before I could see what we were given! To my surprise, I didn’t catch my toddlers with them, but my teenage daughter instead. She was off learning how to create all of the Play-Doh creatures inside of each story.
After I discovered her, so did the littlest bunch, and it was all over from there. Our “one can at a time” rule was quickly tossed aside and my teens decided it was time to turn everything over to the toddlers.
Play-Doh Sound Series:
Baby girl’s favorite books are the two sing-along books from the sound series: The Wheels on the Bus, and Old McDonald Had a Farm. Both books have a easy to push button and speaker combo that is easy for the littlest of children to press. The music is louder and more vibrant sounding than traditional singing music books. There is a distinct difference in them that you have to hear for yourself to fully understand. They sound more clearly than any other toddler book I have heard before.
The Sound Series has been a nighttime lifesaver in our home! We can easily grab one of these two books and it instantly settles her down to get ready for bed! Once she is given her book, she climbs upon the bed and immediately lays in her “spot” to cuddle and read together.
Play-Doh Hands On Learning Series:
My little guy and teenagers loved the create your own animals and sea creatures books best. While my four year-old wasn’t as successful in creating his jungle animals from In the Jungle, as my teenager was at her sea creatures from Under the Sea, he still enjoyed every minute of spending time with her.
The two books in the hands on learning series from Play-Doh and Silver Dolphin Books each contain four cans of Play-Doh in the colors recommend to create the creatures inside. Each page contains a portion of the story with an instruction strip below that shows how to create an animal, or sea creature, step-by-step. There are also portions within each page where the child is to place a piece of Play-Doh inside a specific shape. The shape may be a leaf on the tree, a rock in the water, or covering a creature with leaves to help them hide.
Play-Doh Story Fun Series:
My niece and her toddler son came over for a visit recently. She wasn’t overly thrilled about him playing with the books. I told her they were board books and she said that he still finds a way to eat and destroy them. I showed her the three books from the story fun series (Trucks, Farm Friends, and Jungle Friends) and she was floored at how thick and durable they are. She quickly changed her mind and allowed him to play with them and asked where to find them in stores!
The Story Fun Series are mega thick board books that contain one can of Play-Doh for the littlest ones to enjoy. Each book tells a story about their topic while sneaking in facts and information. Children won’t even know they are learning ~ when they are! These books are a great way to incorporate story time, learning, and sensory play within one book!
The Play-Doh Silver Dolphin Books really helped me bridge the gap and turn sibling time into a fun afternoon for all of my children. They are our go-to books of choice for everything in our home!
