5 Tips for Choosing Gifts for Teens and Tweens Girls

July 21, 2014 by Pam Maynard

It can often be difficult to choose a gift for someone that matters a great deal. This can extend to spouses, close friends, grandparents, and others. However, some of the hardest gifts to give may be to teen girls and to tween girls. The issues that girls face during these years can often affect the girls’ interests and hobbies. Although just a few days ago, a ten year old girl loved cartoon ponies, she may have just recently decided to move on to more “mature” interests. For gift-givers, this age can be very frustrating. There is hope, though. Consider following these tips in order to choose personalized gifts for girls that will be cherished because of the thought that went into the gift:

  1. Think of Past Interactions and the Current Relationship

Gifts that focus on the relationship between the girl and the gift-giver are often successful. Consider presenting her with a personalized memory journal from My Chronicle Books. This gift casts light on the relationship, acknowledges the importance of her name, and provides a place for the changing girl to sort out her thoughts, as she makes her way from childhood into her teenage years.

  1. Remember What She Likes, But Focus on Important Personal Life Stories

Parents might have fond memories of reading a favorite book to their toddler over and over again. Chances are good that the teenage girl enjoys that memory as well. A personalized copy of the cherished story book will bring back that memory and become a keepsake that she can share with her own family someday.

  1. Gifts That Encourage Interaction Are Great

Although the girl is getting older, she may still enjoy some of those great moments that she used to share with the gift-giver. Was story time an important part of the day? The gift of a new book may highlight those special moments and create the perfect opportunity to make some new memories. Personalize a journal for the purpose of writing special messages back and forth. This is another way to give a gift that will help the girl cope with the teen years.

  1. Personalization Is Always the Right Way to Go

Gift-giving experts often emphasize the importance of adding a personal touch to gifts. For girls of all ages, adding their name and yours to a gift is a great way to deliver a gift that will be remembered for many years to come. With the personalization offered by My Chronicled Books, even a gift that she wouldn’t ordinarily choose can become well-loved.

  1. Don’t Forget the Packaging

No matter how great the gift is, the wrong wrapping or no wrapping can ruin the presentation of the gift. Wrapping may be simple, but it can still be elegant or expressive. Presentation of the gift can’t make up for a bad gift choice, but the wrapping can add the finishing touches to a great gift.

Many parents, grandparents, aunts, and family friends struggle while trying to decide what to give a teen or tween girl, especially when so many gift-giving occasions arise during the year. With some careful thinking about the girl’s personality and the gift giver’s relationship with the girl, a great gift can be found.

Good luck finding the perfect gifts for teens and tweens!
