Brick Wonders LEGO Book #Review

May 3, 2014 by Pam Maynard

brick wonders

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

About the book: Ancient, Modern, and Natural Wonders Made from LEGO®

More than 400 full-color images offer inspiration and instruction, and two stunning 17 1/2″ x 24 3/4″ posters of completed models makes Brick Wonders a must-have for LEGO fans and model lovers of all ages.   Browse our Fall/Winter 2014 catalog online.

My Review:

My son sums it all up: “It’s so cool!”  That it is!  As a life long LEGO lover, he has built with thousands of pieces in his 11 years.  We have never owned a book like this.  It has amazing pictures of LEGO models that can be found around the world.  AND, it has illustrations with instructions to build some of these “Wonders.”   My son figured out that if you don’t have certain pieces, you can buy them on the LEGO shop online.

inside lego book1 mdrDid you know that Brick Wonders has over 28 wonders with detailed dioramas?

It also has Step-by-Step instructions for more than 60 projects.

AND it has 2 pull-out posters of the iconic wonders in LEGO.

They even have a Stonehenge LEGO model.  It’s one of my favorites.  It would take days to build.  We started off doing Mini Sphinx, but got sidetracked and kind of irritated when the dogs knocked it over.  So… we will start again tomorrow when the big dogs have gone home.

Building with LEGOS is a rite of passage through childhood that should not be passed over.  LEGOS are great for hand-eye coordination, following instructions and even teamwork when you build with a friend or sibling.  The instructions for the projects are all visual representations, so no reading is required.  Although, in this book, Brick Wonders, there is so much more to see and do than just build with LEGOS.  It’s a great book full of history and modern wonders of the world.  You can learn about the Egyptian pyramids and a few chapters over, you can learn about the International Space Station and build an iPad out of LEGOS.

inside lego book2 mdrI highly recommend this educational and fun LEGO book for the LEGO lover in your life.  Even “older kids,” like dads, would love this book!

What is your favorite thing to build with LEGOS?
