Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s the perfect excuse to get creative in the kitchen. I love making fun treats that look festive without spending hours decorating. This Halloween Eyeball Cake is one of those recipes that’s incredibly simple, yet it always gets a big reaction when I set it on the dessert table.

The best part is that you don’t need any fancy cake decorating skills. If you can frost a cake and place a few cookies on top, you can make this spooky dessert. It’s a great project to do with kids, too. They love helping create the “eyeballs,” and everyone gets a laugh when the finished cake is revealed.

Whether you’re hosting a Halloween party, taking dessert to a school event, or simply looking for a fun weekend baking activity, this creepy cake is sure to be a hit. Using a boxed cake mix keeps things easy, while a few simple decorations transform an ordinary cake into a Halloween centerpiece.

  • White frosting
  • Brown M&M’s
  • Oreo cookies- we used mini Oreos and regular Oreos

  1. Bake the round cake according to the package directions and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Frost the entire cake with white frosting until smooth.
  3. Carefully separate the Oreo cookies into halves.
