For this review, I had the opportunity to test some of SERRV’s beautifully crafted pieces: the Lidded Pangara Breadwarmer, the Kantha Napkin Set, and the Upcycled Sari and Denim Apron. Experiencing these products firsthand gave me a deeper appreciation for SERRV International’s meaningful impact daily.
Lidded Pangara Breadwarmer
It is hard to believe that this beautiful breadwarmer is handmade. It is entirely crafted by hand from natural materials in Bangladesh, making each one unique and one of a kind. Purchasing these breadwarmers supports Bangladeshi artisans with fair wages, vital jobs, healthcare, and education for their children.
The Pangara Breadwarmer includes a terracotta warming stone and bread basket. A beautiful floral vine motif decorates the warming stone, and the fitted lid keeps your baked goods warm even longer.
The terracotta warming stone is heavy and well-made. First, it is made from natural clay, which is pressed into a specialized mold, baked, and then whitewashed for rustic appeal.
The bread basket is hand-woven from sustainable kaisa grass and palm wrap. It has a matching woven lid with a mahogany wood handle attached with natural jute string. To use the bread warmer, preheat the oven to 350°degrees, place the terracotta warming stone in the oven, and bake for 10 minutes. Place the warm stone in the basket to keep baked goods toasty warm. For best results, wrap your food in a towel before placing it on the stone.
Upcycled Sari & Denim Apron
From the moment I opened this beautiful and uniquely designed apron, I knew it would become my favorite. As someone who loves to cook and wears an apron nearly every time I am in the kitchen, I was genuinely excited to receive such an exceptional one.
Skilled artisans in Bangladesh handcraft this apron from upcycled saris, making it a truly special piece. Women traditionally wear saris, which symbolize Bengali culture. Additionally, since 2008, SERRV International has partnered with women in some of the country’s poorest regions, helping them earn a sustainable income, support their families, and send their children to school. Today, over 1,000 women across ten handicraft centers receive skill training and employment. By using eco-friendly materials and prioritizing fair wages, these artisans preserve their heritage while promoting sustainability and dignity.
This beautiful apron features a patchwork design created from upcycled saris and denim. It is all hand-stitched with kantha embroidery. Artisans craft each one by hand, so no two are alike. It has an adjustable 140″ long neck/waist strap and two large pockets in the front. It is soft and comfortable, perfect for cooking all year round.
Kantha Napkins Set
Similar to the fabulous apron, this napkin set is made from upcycled cotton saris to create vibrant, colorful, and useful napkins. These handcrafted, eco-friendly napkins are all unique so that no two are alike. They are made from 100% recycled cotton, making them soft and absorbent.
Each napkin features beautiful, hand-stitched kantha embroidery and showcases unique patterns and color palettes inspired by the rich traditions of Indian textiles. Generously sized at 18 inches square, they’re perfect for a variety of kitchen uses or as a colorful touch to indoor décor. Plus, they’re machine washable, making them as practical as they are elegant. Since each napkin is one of a kind, they also make wonderful gifts.

SERRV International works with artisans from 24 countries, providing them with a source of vital income to support their families and communities through fair trade. The products I received were all made by women in Bangladesh. It makes me feel good to know that these products directly improve the lives of these women and their families. After spending time on the SERRV website, I am excited to order more quality products from other parts of the world.
