Buying lunch on workdays gets so expensive. Many of us like to bring our lunch from home in small plastic containers. There are so many things wrong with these plastic containers like health and environmental factors. ECOLunchbox
ECOlunchbox is a mission-based company working on educating, inspiring and empowering people to say goodbye to plastic for both health and environmental reasons since 2009. Our responsibly made bentos, tiffins and lunchbox sets are plastic-free and non-toxic.
ECOlunchbox was born of the idea that change can begin at lunchtime. I [founder, Sandra Ann Harris] wanted to eliminate plastics from my kids’ lunchboxes to reduce their exposure to the leachy toxins commonly found in such products, as well as do the right thing for Mother Earth. It seemed like a pretty simple concept.
By providing earth-friendly lunch containers and accessories to help people green their habits at lunchtime, we hope to encourage them to move beyond using plastics in many other parts of their lives.
3-In-1 Giant
Bento Boxes have been gaining popularity in the last few years. The 3-in-1 Giant from ECOLunchox is the ultimate in containers. This large stainless steel lunchbox is non-toxic, plastic and waste free, and has multiple sections to keep food separated.
There are two tiers and each of them holds about 3 1/2 cups of food and comes with a rectangular container with a lid that holds about a cup. The tiers clip together to make a singular box to carry that doesn’t come apart until you want it to.
This box is not leakproof and can not be used in microwaves; however, because it’s stainless steel, it can be heated on a campfire, grill, or in the oven.
Blue Water Bento Insulated Canister
The Blue Water Bento Insulated Canister is 100% plastic-free, vacuum-insulated and has a bamboo lid. It can keep food hot or cold up to 8 hours and can hold about 1 1/2 cups. The wide mouth is great for eating with utensils or you can just drink right out of it like a coffee cup.
This container is leakproof, easy to clean, and has an easy carry handle. This canister fits perfectly in lunch boxes. My son likes to take it to work with him so that his dinner is nice and warm when he’s ready to eat.
Snack Containers
ECOLunchbox offers a variety of snack containers in multiple sizes and shapes. They are great for lunchboxes, diaper bags, and for gift giving. I like the Splash Pod that has a vibrant blue silicone lid, a small 4″ container, and they are easy for little ones to open. This is a perfect size for crackers and cookies, small veggies and more.
The Seal Cup Mini is perfect for fruit snacks, dressings, and yogurt. It is also great for dips such as hummus, veggie dips and pudding. This container is only about 2 5/8″ and it nests with other containers for easy storage. The pretty yellow silicone lid helps keep it leakproof so that the food you pack stays inside the container.
ECOLunchpod
The last piece I want to tell you about is the ECOLunchpod. This is a 100% stainless steel container that is perfect for carrot sticks, celery, or pretzels. It’s a great snack container that will fit perfectly in your Bento Box, lunch box, or bag. I really like to add these inside my 3-in-1 Giant Bento Box because I can keep my food separated this way. My daughter doesn’t like for any of her food to touch and this guarantees that it won’t.
My Thoughts
I really like the ECOLunchbox line of containers. These are perfect for picnics, gift-giving, and camping. My son loves that he can take hot food to work and not need to microwave it when he uses the Insulated Canister. My daughter keeps her food separated with all of the individual containers. These are great for the environment and easy to use, clean, and store.
