Confession: I’m addicted to art supplies.  I love art and craft supplies.  When you get to this point, I feel like a support group is needed.  However, when I find fun, interactive arts and crafts supplies, why keep them to myself?  Scentco is home to fun, innovative, and pleasantly scented arts and crafts supplies.  

About Scentco

The idea to make pencils that smell good began in an apartment in Vancouver back in 2000, but trying to add scent to wooden pencils proved difficult. So once the idea of using pencils made from recycled newspapers developed, the product started to really come together in 2001. 

Over the years, the “scented products” concept has resulted in many other innovations like pens, markers, crayons, sketch pads, and stickers. More recently, our product development team in California has introduced several toys, pillows, educational products, and stuffed animals; and not always scented.

Scentco Stationary

My favorite thing to get are markers.  And I’m super picky about them.  I want them high quality, with good pigment and an easy grip.  That’s a lot to put on a marker, but I like what I like.  Scentco makes a variety of writing implements such as Smencils, Glitter Gel Smens, and Smarkers.

Smencils are made from 100% recycled newspaper, the scent is guaranteed to last for at least 2 years, and they are #2 pencils, which makes them perfect for school.  This pack is the Holiday 5-Pack.  They have different holiday scents including Candy Cane, Mint Cocoa, Snowberry, Sugar Plum, and Gingerbread.

Glitter Gel Smens come in an 8-pack, each smen features a different color glitter gel ink, and the scents are also guaranteed to last for at least 2 years.  Each one has a different scent including Mango, Strawberry, Bubble Gum, Cupcake, Blackberry, Blueberry Pie, Cotton Candy, and Watermelon.  Gel pens are another product I’m picky about.  If they don’t dry fast or if they smear, that makes a mess and when I’m serious enough to use color ink, I don’t want a mess.  Smens have been a great addition to my supply.

Smarkers are my absolute favorite!  Some markers have a heavy ink odor, well, not Smarkers.  They smell fabulous.  They come in two different types, skinny, long markers or shorter, chunky (medium barrel) markers.  Either way, you can’t go wrong.

There are many scents, and each of them has a different smell and color.  The ink is washable, has vivid color, and the scent is guaranteed to last for at least 2 years.  They come in a 14-pack or a 16-pack.

Bedtime Defenderz

Scentco also has plushies.  My favorite is the Bedtime Defenderz.  We have “Lexi” who is the brains of the team.  The rest of the team includes Team Leader Magnus, Brawny Bruno, Scrapper Sonny, and Speedster Zigy.

Each of the Defenderz is 10 inches tall, they are both soft and tough, washable and will be your child’s favorite bedtime protector.

They each come with a comic book, glow-in-the-dark features, and a bracelet for your child to wear anytime.  These are recommended for children ages 3-7.

My Thoughts on Scentco, Inc.

When I found Scentco, the website says they make the Funnest Stuff on Earth.  I really believe that.  They have some really neat products such as Air Dough, Clip-On Plushies, Pencil Pouches, and Water Magic Coloring Books.  My granddaughter, who is only 18 months old loves the Water Magic books.  She’s a little young for them, but she can color all she wants, the pictures show up when wet, and she won’t get ink everywhere, just a few drops of water.

My 23-year-old daughter loves the Air Dough.  She and my friend’s daughter had so much fun making their own creations.  Scentco is fun for people of all ages.  They have so many things that will make great gifts or stocking stuffers.  From my littlest little, to my biggest big, Scentco is a win for my whole family.
