Experience a Safari Destination at Kapama Game Reserve

November 26, 2023 by Pam Maynard

Make Your Escape into the Wilderness of Kapama Park Luxurious with Kapama River Lodge!

A discerning nature and wildlife lover will want to experience the magic of game parks in South Africa, which epitomize beauty, tranquility, comfort, and luxury. One such destination is Kapama Private Game Reserve, which takes pride in its Big Five and other African animals thriving in its stunning atmosphere and ecosystem. Kapama Game Reserve was earlier a Moria farm.

With time and expansion, it has become a prime eco-tourism spot in South Africa in the Lowveld region for safari tours. The park starts in the west from the R40 and ends in the east at the Thornybush boundary. The reserve enjoys medium temperatures across the year because of its altitude of 1640 feet from the sea level.

Summer starts from October to March, with daytime temperature rising to 107.6 degrees Fahrenheit and nighttime temperature diving to 68 degrees Fahrenheit. This period also receives heavy rainfall. Winter starts from May to July, with daily daytime temperatures recording up to 78.8 degrees Fahrenheit and nighttime temperatures 46.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

During your visit to the game reserve, you can expect to see cheetahs, lions, wildebeest, impala, kudu, and giraffes. The exciting landscape can capture your attention with its scenic grasslands, savannah woodland, and riverine bush. Dams and waterholes remain full of water. At a distance, you can also enjoy the majestic view of the Drakensberg Mountains. Do you wonder about the accommodation?

Choices of accommodation in game reserves

In these areas, you get primarily three types of facilities: safari game lodges, luxury tented camps, and portable tents. While all of them redefine a sense of comfort and ease of living in the wilderness, luxury lodges like Kapama River Lodge can be your perfect hideout for a classic stay described by the surroundings of aesthetic landscapes, eternal panoramas, and opulence.

These accommodations occupy the best spot in the area to give you a superior taste of the surrounding environment with commanding views. You can also find modern amenities like air conditioners, pools, spas, restaurants, etc. Staying in a lodge can be the right decision to make your wilderness tour comfortable without ditching your daily habits.

Their Western-style amenities, plush bathrooms, and facilities give you a feeling of home away from home. Some provide a choice between royal and family suites to enable you to elevate your everyday experience in the wild.

The best time to be in Kapama Game Reserve

Accommodation hunting should be fine. Still, booking in advance is always better, especially if you plan to explore safari options during peak season, such as May to September. People often come here during these dry months. The next popular slot remains from October to March when the crowd is thinner.

Although April to September is counted as the low season, some believe it’s an ideal time to enjoy wildlife views. Regarding the weather, consider your trip between September and October and April and May. Medium temperatures and little rain make the climate pleasant.

A stay in the Kapama Game Reserve will be worth it, as there is so much to see and do. Plus, comfortable accommodations ensure you continue to spend healthy and fun-filled days even miles away from your hometown. And the best thing is, you can have a perfect holiday in this area, regardless of your season choice. Of course, the dry season is the favorite. However, bird watchers can visit this park from October to April to witness the glory of migratory species.
