Sensory toys are great for littles because they stimulate developing senses, like sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. We’ve all had the crinkle-sounding toys, the bumpy teethers, and the black-and-white cards that babies love. Glo Pals, each with a fun personality, is a new type of sensory toy that lights up when they are submerged in water.
About Glo Pals
The Glo Pals were inspired by a child with autism whose mother used the technology behind Glo Pals®to help him overcome his fear of water. His story influenced the development of the Glo Pal®characters and our mission to create a product that engages children in sensory exercises and brightens bath time. Each Pal is designed with a unique personality to celebrate the things that make each of us one-of-a-kind.
We believe in the magic of childhood and the importance of playtime. It is our goal to bring that magic into ordinary every day activities. Our products are designed with a purpose: to nurture imagination, encourage development, and support learning through playtime.
Glo Pals Fun Characters
The fun part about Glo Pals is they each have a story. There are characters we all know like Big Bird from Sesame Street and Daniel Tiger. But, there are also the original Glo Pals. They are Sammy, Pippa, Lumi, Alex and Blair. There are also special characters like Christmas Pal Character and Party Pal Character.
Each character has a spot on the back of their head where you put the light-up cube. Once the character is submerged in water, the cube (and the head) lights up. Their arms and legs are bendable, each one has a fun, bright color, and they come with two coordinating cubes!
Sesame Street Glo Pals Characters
Because my granddaughter loves Elmo, I chose several Sesame Street Glo Pals Characters. These fun characters can be played with in and out of water. They will give your littles hours of fun and entertainment. Elmo’s cubes glow red, Cookie Monster’s glow blue, and Abby Cadabby’s glow pink. Who wouldn’t want to play with these magical toys?
Please note, that Glo Pals are designed for children 3 years and older (could pose a choking hazard). Yes, my granddaughter is younger than that, but I only let her play with them with supervision. She loves her Elmo Glo Pal and loves to play in the tub with them. She’s learning cause and effect. I’m sure she’s learning more than just that, however, she knows when she puts them in the water, they glow.
Guppy Grips
Everybody’s grandmother had those little daisies in their tubs so they wouldn’t slip. You can still get them in some stores. However, why not get the updated fun version of slip-resistant bathtub stickers? Guppy Grips (and Galaxy Grips) are fun, brightly colored textured bathtub stickers that will make bathtime even more fun. The texture will keep little slippery baby feet from slipping and sliding in the tub, preventing a potential accident.
Guppy Grips fun characters include a starfish, a crab, a seahorse, a turtle, a couple of shells, and a flowering coral. They are cute and will make bathtime exciting. These grips are packaged with fun activities printed on the package and crayons.
My Thoughts
I love all the new technology out there. When my kids were little, we didn’t know about sensory play, but I’m quickly becoming obsessed with it. Watching my 18-month-old granddaughter play with certain toys, watching her discover what happens when she does this or that. She amazes me every day. The Glo Pals are fun toys that will not only keep her entertained but will also teach her important developmental milestones.
