3 Must Have Investment Buys for Baby

Everything that people buy these days should be considered some form of investment. This is especially true for parents. Few people realize how much finance will impact their lives after having a child. With all of the products available for babies these days, the issue gets compounded as parents must make decisions about which products will be the most useful for them. Below are a few things that are considered the best investment buys for babies.

1. Stroller Travel Systems

Strollers have always been essential for every parent. Transporting baby is much easier with a stroller; in fact, many parents would not think of leaving home without one. The latest models include everything from cup holders to ergonomic rotate and recline motion. Many are designed to fit into smaller car trunks and include diaper and bottle pockets.

Designed to shield baby from the elements, they also include UV sunshades to both provide ventilation and keep in warmth when necessary. Specially designed seats can also be removed and used in the car. Babies can ride, play and sleep in them while away from home. Some models are even designed as combination bicycles that parents can use on a bike path.

2. Automated Baby Swings

Often considered indispensable once the baby enjoys them for the first time, baby swings have been very popular since the first one was designed in the mid-1950s. Below are just some of the features that state of the art baby swings, such as the Bright Starts swing, may include:

a. Comfortable and removable nap and sleep station

b. Overhead mobile

c. Activity tray

d. Music

For times when parents need a break or to attend to an important task, there is nothing like a baby swing for a fussy baby. Since these baby swings are so multi-use, they are actually less expensive than similar items sold separately. Also, many are easily designed for pack and go use.

3. Play Yards

An update on the older play pens, play yards incorporate many more functions than the product of the past. They provide a safe environment for babies to play, interact with the family, nap or sleep when traveling or away from home. Many include multiple items like built in bassinets, changing tables, activity centers and storage for diapers, bottles, toys and other items. They are fully portable and can be used outside just as well as inside. Because they can be used for so many things, parents find them very useful for travel.

While all of the above items can seem expensive at the outset, because they all perform several functions, they’re much more affordable than buying several cheaply made alternatives. Let’s face it, usually only one task is performed at a time, so combining them in a state of the art product makes much more sense. Also, all of these products are made to be very durable, which usually cannot be said of cheaper products.

Keep in mind that all of the above products can also be re-purposed. As the baby gets older, they can be stored for future children, for use when visitors stop by with young ones or donated to charity to help other families with small children. Either way, they are an investment that most every parent will consider well worth the resources spent.

When expecting her first baby, author Georgina Clatworthy was on a tight budget but did find the investment in a stroller travel system and a Bright Starts swing was well worth it, especially as both items went on to entertain and delight her second and third children. She recommends every parent considers at least one investment purchase which will grow and adapt as their little one gets older.
