One Perfect Day in Las Vegas with Kids | What To Do

February 18, 2023 by Pam Maynard

Spend a perfect 24 hours with your kids in Las Vegas

Many people with kids don’t have enough time to take a lengthy trip to Las Vegas. In fact, you and your kids may only have 24 hours to see the shows and attractions you wish to visit during your trip.

Is it possible to have one perfect day in Las Vegas with your kids? Las Vegas certainly has plenty of entertainment productions and activities for kids. Adults may even find them to be entertaining themselves too.

Here are ten ways to keep your kids entertained and excited during their day in Las Vegas. You and your children may not have time to visit all these attractions, but try to fit in as many as possible in your one-day schedule.

Las Vegas Sign

1) Cirque du Soleil Productions

A perfect day for a child is watching death-defying acrobatics and stunts in front of their eyes. Many Cirque du Soleil productions appeal to kids and adults because of their impressive stuntwork, production designs, and choreography.

Your children will have a fabulous time attending the biggest kid-friendly Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas, such as Mystere, O, The Beatles LOVE, Ka, and Michael Jackson ONE.

2) Afternoon Comedy and Magic Shows

Las Vegas has plenty of comedy and magic shows performing in the afternoons every day of the week. The afternoon time slot is perfect for families with younger children because they are usually awake in the afternoons. Then you can put them to bed at their regular sleep schedule without keeping them up too late.

Check out the best afternoon shows at: https://vegaslens.com/afternoon-shows/. The most recommended comedy and magic shows in the afternoons include Popovich Comedy Pet Theater, Mac King Comedy Magic Show, David Copperfield, Paranormal Mind Reading Magic, and Nathan Burton’s Comedy Magic.

3) Helicopter Tour

Do you have genuinely adventurous children who don’t mind flying? If so, your children may enjoy taking a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon.

Driving to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas could take hours of your day. But choosing a helicopter tour ride will save you several hours of your day and still give you the same fantastic experience.

4) DISCOVERY Children’s Museum

DISCOVERY Children’s Museum is a three-story museum in “Old Las Vegas” on Fremont Street. Children attendees can participate in educational activities and workshops to teach and entertain them. These activities include climbing, arts & crafts, Water World, the DISCOVERY laboratory, and Toddler Town.

Anyone with kids must take them to the DISCOVERY Children’s Museum to give them a perfect day in Las Vegas. Additionally, a bunch of hotels in Las Vegas are based around this museum so that’s an extra bonus.

5) Eat at Buffets

Children get hungry during trips because they consume more physical and mental energy than usual. One way to satisfy your children’s hunger pains is to take them to a Las Vegas buffet.

Sin City is known for its array of buffet options at various hotels and restaurants. Some of the most famous Las Vegas buffets include the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace, The Buffet at Wynn Las Vegas Hotel, Market Place Buffet at JW Marriott, Wicked Spoon at the Cosmopolitan, and Fresh Buffet at Westgate Las Vegas Hotel.

6) Take a Gondola Ride

The Venetian Hotel’s Grand Canal Shoppes has a manufactured recreation of the traditional Italian gondola rides and canals of Venice, Italy. You and your children can have the opportunity to ride on a gondola boat as a professional gondolier rows and serenades you.

A gondola ride doesn’t take much time out of the day. You could complete one ride in about 10 minutes. That makes it easy to fit in other activities and shows on your travel itinerary for the day.

7) Visit the STRAT Observational Deck

The STRAT Las Vegas Hotel has a 360-degree observational deck approximately 1,149 feet above the ground. It offers a picturesque view of the tall buildings and bright lights of the surrounding Las Vegas landscape.

Kids and adults will feel like kings and queens looking out from the tallest point in the city.

8) Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium

Are your kids fascinated by sea creatures? Then, take them to the fabulous Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. It features more than 2,000 different marine animals and 15 shark species. You and your kids can learn about these creatures from the tour guide while watching them in real-time.

9) Bellagio Fountains

The Bellagio Fountains is a free attraction outside the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. It features several high-pressured water nozzles blasting water straight into the air hundreds of feet.

Lighting technology is built into the fountains to illuminate as it sprays and splashes. It is an experience you and your kids will never forget.

10) High Roller Observation Wheel

Every kid will want to ride the High Roller Observation Wheel when they come to Las Vegas. It is the highest Ferris Wheel found anywhere in the world, standing at a whopping 550 feet tall. So if your kids are not afraid of heights, they will have a thrilling experience riding to the top of the Higher Roller Observational Wheel.

Conclusion

You don’t have to only settle for afternoon shows or family-friendly shows. If your kids are a bit older, you may feel comfortable letting them see separate shows that are more appealing to them while you watch your preferred entertainment.
