When you think of gardening, do you think of the hours of back-breaking weeding, mulching, and seeding? Gardening is more than just growing vegetables by the acre on the family farm. Miracle Gro has come up with some fun garden projects for you! And, even some you can do with your kids!
The Gro Project that is my favorite is the Toyrariium! It's the perfect family gardening project because it incorporates toys and succulents in a small, manageable space- a fishbowl or other glass container. Besides the fishbowl, you will need some plastic toys- the more colorful the better, some succulents or cactus, Moisture Control Potting Mix. your favorite rocks and a spoon or spade. To start, cover the bottom with rocks. Then add potting soil so it fills 1/3 of your container. Then use a spoon to plant your succulents, mix them up to create a masterpiece. Set the scene with your toys! Is it a battlefield or is it a magical fairyland? Use you imagination and watch your creation grow! Don't over water, just sprits the plants when they become dry. Be sure to use Shake n' Feed Moisture Control All purpose Plant Food to keep your plants strong and healthy!
My son and I actually ordered a kit to make this project. It's a Desert Biodome. We can't wait for it to arrive so we can customize it with Miracle-Gro and our favorite toys!
For all of us who plant flowers and veggies outside, get your kids involved. Give them their own garden patch and let them pick the seeds, plants or flowers that they want to grow. They can even mark their garden space with plastic toys or you can print out labels and laminate them so they will stand up to the weather.
Feed and water your garden at the same time with LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food Advance Starter Kit.
