I received 2 pairs of DanceSocks (free of charge) to review! They came at a perfect time for me! I was just recovering from back injuries and procedures and I wanted to start Zumba. OK, so I started off with Zumba for the Wii. Then I went back to playing Just Dance 4 with my son.
Let me tell you how they work: These “socks” actually slide over your sneakers over the ball of your foot (or front of your shoe). They are made to be used over sneakers and on smooth surfaces. They are NOT made for carpet or concrete. The material is flexible so you can fold it if you need to or stretch it. I found that if I covered more of my shoe, I slid much easier than if I just pulled it over my toes.
My son is already upset when I beat him at Just Dance. Now, when I wear my DanceSocks, he says he has a handicap because he isn’t wearing DanceSocks. Luckily, we have 2 pair so we both can slide all over the wood floor in the living room! I have to admit, he is better with them then I do. I guess that’s what age does for you! Don’t tell him, but I really like playing the Wii dance games, now that I have the DanceSocks!
It’s so much easier to dance with the DanceSocks. My back doesn’t hurt anywhere near as much when I wear them. Being able to slide, it reduces the stress hips and knees!
To clean them, handwash them in cold water. They recommend you keep the logo side up so you always use the same side.
