What makes these products so special?
All of the products from tinyB chocolates are gluten-free, preservative-free, and are made by hand fresh to order in San Francisco. And, the kit is so easy to follow. Plus, since the little ones were “helping me”; I expected it to be a little messy. I was surprised at how simple it was to do and that there wasn’t a huge mess. Note the recommendation of parchment paper….makes all the difference when cleaning up melted chocolate off the working surface.
Here are the simple steps
Once you get everything opened and set up (and stop the little ones from wanting to try all the toppings).. start melting the chocolate. For our microwave, 30 seconds – stir – 30 seconds was the perfect timing. Your microwave might be difference. However, nuke the chocolate in 30 to 40 second bursts rather than one long cook time to prevent burning it.
Next simply coat the inside of the molds with chocolate (we did half in dark chocolate and half in white chocolate). Place molds in freezer to speed setting time.
Once the chocolate has set up, add the Brigadeiro inside the shells. This was the messy part for me. I ended up using my fingers to spread it out in the shells. Then top the Brigadeiro with more melted chocolate and place the popsicle stick on the mold making sure to cover it in chocolate too. Place back in freezer for a few minutes.
Then just press the chocolate pop out of the mold. Make sure to press from the back and not pull on the stick (as it will come out and that is the end of the world to a 4 year old). If it does come off, just stick it back in and add a little more chocolate to hold in place.
Grab all the toppings and have fun! And for the leftover Brigadeiro, take a small spoonful of it and roll it in your hand into a ball. Dip it in the remaining chocolate and roll in the toppings. Great way to use up the remaining Brigadeiro and enjoy some momma truffles for yourself.
