5 Seriously Tasty Cannabis Edibles You Can Make at Home

September 20, 2022 by Pam Maynard

Weed cookies and brownies opened up the world of edibles to stoners. Following a Larry Bird strain review, it is common for people to make cookies and brownies with cannabis. But what about other types of food? Surely, stoners do not have to settle for pastries when looking for edibles.

Luckily enough, there are numerous dishes one can make with marijuana. People are exploring a range of recipes from soups to hot drinks, juices, and even meals. Dispensaries only offer a certain type of edibles. You can find cookies, brownies, and maybe infused juices. For the out-of-the-box stuff, you will have to make them at home. Where to start?

If you’re considering using cannabis edibles to alleviate chronic pain or other medical issues, obtaining a medical marijuana card is a fairly simple process. Reach out to a licensed medical marijuana doctor to initiate the process.

How to Cook with Weed

Like any other recipe, making edibles has its starting point. Though there are recipes that do not use cannabutter, most of them do. Cannabutter is a special ingredient that is butter infused with weed.

To get the final product, a rigorous process needs to be followed. Of course, there is the store-bought cannabutter option. But for those who want to make their own, it is also very possible.

When making cannabutter, the first step is decarboxylating. This means that you must cook your dry marijuana in the oven for a given amount of time. The recommended time is 30-45 minutes, depending on your product’s size. If it is well ground, 30 minutes would be enough. If not well ground, then 45 minutes will do. Also, the cannabis needs to be turned after half the time.

After the baking, the next step is melting a tub or two of butter and pouring in the baked marijuana. This mixture is then simmered for 2-4 hours, depending on the cooking method. You can choose to sieve the end product or cook your meals with the weed debris. That is your cannabutter.

Things to Consider When Making Edibles

Before we delve into the types of recipes you can make, there are some things you need to consider. At the top of the list is potency. How potent do you want your edible? You will need an equally potent marijuana strain to make a highly potent dish.

The best choice would be one with high THC content. Also, for maximum potency, you must handle the decarbing process well. The weed needs to be evenly baked at 230-250 degrees Fahrenheit.

The other important thing is the cannabutter or infused compound. Since the cannabutter is infused with cannabis, it should always be part of your edible recipes. For recipes that do not use cannabutter, infused compounds such as tinctures, cannabis flour, and more are available. The main thing is not to forget the infused ingredient, which will leave you with basic meals and not edibles.

7 Mouthwatering Cannabis Edibles

5 Tasty Edibles You Can Make

Edibles are to stoners what unexplored lands are to voyagers. There are a whole lot of unexplored recipes, and people are slowly catching on. The fact that you can make edibles from practically anything is mind-blowing. Here are the top 5 edibles you have to try;

Marijuana Cookies

Alongside weed brownies, cookies have been at the top of the edibles list for ages. This is because they are simple to make and are ready within no time. For the ingredients, cookies need flour, cannabutter, eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and anything you wish to add.

Your final product will be packed with potent abilities if you put it in the cannabutter. There are numerous infused cookie recipes on the internet.

Weed Gummies

Gummy bears have become a common snack for children and adults alike. But what if we were to tell you gummies can become edibles? Rather than settle for ordinary gummies, stoners have mixed some cannabutter into their ingredients. What they get are edibles packed with high potency.

Gummies are not so hard to make as what you need is gelatin (flavored and unflavored), sugar, water, and your infused ingredient. By following the instructions, you will have your batch of potent gummies in no time.

Infused Pancakes

For this wake-and-bake breakfast option, all you need is the basic pancake ingredients plus your cannabutter. While mixing, you only need to add the cannabutter and cook like you would like normal pancakes. The basic ingredients can change to your liking. For instance, you can make bananas, blueberries, and any other.

Weed Omelet

Weed omelets are simply gaining fame. They are easy to make as you only have to cook your eggs with the cannabutter or cannabis oil and add your fillings when needed. The sprinkle of cannabutter is enough to pack the omelet with THC compounds to get you high.

Cannabis Infused Bacon

On its bacon is a delicious breakfast dish. When infused with weed, it becomes something else altogether. When making marijuana bacon, all you need is to sprinkle decarbed cannabis on the side of the bacon, bake it for ten minutes, turn, sprinkle and bake again. The oil on the bacon is enough to activate the weed into THC and CBD. Hence after twenty minutes, you will be getting a highly potent edible.

Conclusion

While smoking is the most famous method of marijuana intake, there are other methods, and some are even better. Take edibles, for one; they do not result in smoke inhalation or negative effects. The swallowed edibles react with the body and result in a prolonged high compared to smoking.

Also, there are multiple recipes for edibles. You can try breakfast recipes, pasta meals, steak, and more. All you need to know is when to add the infused ingredients, and you will be making edibles all the time.
