How fun would it be if you could talk to your home and it actually answered you back? Today’s technology is getting better and better every day. The Google Nest and Home products can make your life so much easier and productive.
I’ve always wondered about the Smart in Smart Home. Do these products connect as easily as they claim? Is there really a need for my home to be smart? Which system is the best to make my home from ordinary to extraordinary? Google has a large variety of smart products for any home. The Nest products I am going to outline here includes Chromecast with Google TV, Nest Audio, Nest Wi-Fi and Nest Hub.
Google Nest Products
Building your smart home couldn’t get easier. Google has tons of products to help you design the perfect set up for your home. They make speakers, door bells, Wi-Fi Routers, Door locks, smoke alarms, cameras, streaming devices, gaming, thermostats and displays to connect them all together. You can even schedule a technician to help you with installation.
Currently, I am renting my home, however, the items I am outlining here will be able to move with me when I’m ready to leave our rental. How neat is that? I can actually take the SMART with us!
Nest Audio
With Nest Audio, you can build a home audio system or just connect a speaker and use it in a singular room. That’s what is so neat about these products, they are customized to you and your home.
Google makes two different speakers, the Nest Audio and the Nest Mini. Have a question? Just say, “Hey Google” and the speaker will listen and answer your question quickly and accurately. Your rooms will be filled with clear, crisp sounds. Music, radio stations and even audio books sound even better when they are heard from Nest Audio. Also, Nest Audio is compatible with all the best apps including Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora and so many more.
Streaming
Google Chromecast is the perfect device to add to televisions like mine who are not smart devices. Google Chromecast with Google TV is so extremely cool. This device allows you to access your favorite shows from your favorite apps in one place without having to switch between apps! Talk about smart.
Chromecast with Google TV has a voice controlled remote, the resolution is up to 4k HDR, available in three colors, and can be used with all of the other Google Nest products. Oh, and you can play games on Stadia through this device?
Displays
A perfect way to connect all of your home devices is the Google Hub. The Hub can control any smart device in the home such as locks, lights and alarms. It also works with Google TV, speakers, internet routers and so much more. You can add a sleep alarm, monitor front door cameras and listen to music. The Google Hub will be your master control for your home, keeping it organized and easily accessible.
Nest Wi-Fi
Nest Wi-Fi is a scalable system that creates a mesh network with delivers a consistently strong and reliable signal throughout your home. What does all of that mean?
In simple terms, Nest Wi-Fi is a system with a router that attaches to your internet modem and a second device called a “point” which you’d put in another part of your home. This is a satellite device that allows your home to get great, reliable signal for all of your devices.
Anyone with a larger home will definitely understand that the further you’re away from the modem, the slower your connection is. This changes all of that. Because of the “point” device, the signal comes through strong and clear. No more buffering videos or lost computer signals.
My Thoughts
Google Home offers so many products that are designed to make your life easier. I, for one, love technology. The amazing things it has allowed us to do mesmerizes me every day. The Google Nest and Home products can make your life so much easier and productive.
