Classically beautiful, wonderfully comfortable and grounded in the authentic character of the centuries-old textile tradition of Maine, Brahms Mount has been capturing the hearts of customers since the company was founded in 1983.
We are proud to carry on Maine’s textile tradition. Our blankets and throws are woven by local artisans on antique shuttle looms that have stood the test of time. To achieve our vibrant colors, we use specially engineered yarns spun from the finest natural fibers and colorfast, eco-friendly dyes. We are proud to produce luxury pieces that feel clean and untreated, rich and resilient.
In 2022, Brahms Mount was acquired by Faribault Mill, a Minnesota-based woolen mill that has been weaving textiles since 1865. These two Made in USA companies have come together to keep quality craftsmanship and American manufacturing alive.
Sustainability is not a new idea at Faribault Mill. Natural fibers and earth-friendly practices were woven into the fabric of our company from day one. Every part of our process, from sourcing yarns to manufacturing products, involves making choices with minimal impact. We use colorfast, eco-friendly dyes to achieve our vibrant hues. We follow the safest possible methods to give our whites their characteristic brightness. Our natural fibers are just that – pure and undyed, with a clean, untreated finish. Feel-good fibers, in every sense.
Monhegan Cotton Throw
Our iconic cotton throw features a large-scale herringbone pattern with a flourish of hand-twisted and knotted rope fringe. It is finished with true selvedge, the beautiful self-finished hem which can only be produced on an antique loom. Dense, luxurious, plush and practical, our Monhegan Cotton Throw is the perfect one-size-delights-all type of gift.
These gorgeous throws are woven on an Oyster, Natural, White, Soft White, or Black ground. They are made of 100% USA cotton. The selvedge keeps it from unweaving, assuring you have quality, lifelong use of this lovely throw.
Maintenance is a breeze as the throw is prewashed and preshrunk to assure you get the perfect size. The throw is a generous 48” x 70” in size, plus the hand-twisted fringe. This throw is soft to the touch and keeps me warm on a cold night. It is available in a wide array of both soft and bold colors including white and grey to Monhegan Sugar Snap (pictured) and navy. 
The quality of this throw is top-notch. Thinking about the craftsmanship and care that is put into making each throw is wonderful delightful. I’ve added this throw to my grey living room sectional to give it a pop of color and for something to snuggle up with on a cold night when we are watching movies.
