Buy a planner, a journal, and highlighters

It’s never too early to start planning. Begin the habit of going through your child’s planner, highlighting homework and important dates, and jotting down assignments. If you highlight them, you will be more aware of the upcoming activities and deadlines in your child’s life. It is essential with an active pre-schooler who may not have a clear grasp of time.

Initiate your kids to a new morning routine

The more organized children’s day becomes, the more in control he will feel. Start your child on a new morning routine that includes things like brushing their teeth and showering. They should also have time to get dressed, eat breakfast and get ready for school.

Help your children associate these activities with going to school and encourage them to do them independently. A routine will help your child know what you expect of them every time they wake up. Therefore, they can take care of themselves without you having to boss them every day.

Shop for School Requirements Together

Planning for the first day of school is essential for your kids. Begin by researching school requirements and then decide what you need to purchase. Try to stick to the store’s recommended list and avoid going over it. Then, buy everything together as a family. Buying together will ensure that everyone has the correct supplies and that you will also be saving money.

Make sure their school uniform fits well

School uniforms are essential for every kid. You will want your child to look good and feel comfortable wearing it. If a uniform does not fit them well, they will not feel confident about going to school and participating in class activities because the clothes won’t work right.

For example, if you are enrolling your child to Learn and Play Montessori Preschool, you can check out the sizing charts of their uniforms online if you need help with figuring out what size your child should be in a particular grade.

Get motivated

The first day of school is always an exciting time, but if your child has trouble waking up or getting motivated, help him prepare. Set a small alarm clock that you can place by his bedside. Then, wake him up 15 minutes before the actual alarm goes off.

If they are used to this routine, they should get themselves dressed in no time and be ready for breakfast right when it’s time to go. Your child should also be allowed adequate sleep not to feel tired in school.

Summing Up

The first day of school is always an exciting time. Start the year by considering the above tips to make your child confident when enrolling in a new school. Moreover, teach your children to read if you want to ensure they have a smooth transition into their first year in school.

By following these tips, you will transition your kids into the new school year with ease. It’ll also prepare you and your child for all the recent changes that are to come.
