Improve Your Kitchen with These 5 Easy Steps to More Organized Kitchen Countertops

November 9, 2021 by Pam Maynard

Do you look at your kitchen countertops and get bombarded with a slew of emotions ranging from frustrated to claustrophobic? It’s time you simplify things and get them under control. You might have pretty internal oak interior door designs, but when you enter the kitchen, it’s just a mess.

If you think the project ahead is going to be arduous, don’t fret, as we’ve got easy steps that will get your kitchen more organized in no time. And all it takes is a little elbow grease and a few minutes of your time.

5 Easy Steps to More Organized Countertops

Store Frequently Used Items in Clear Containers on the Countertop

You can keep frequently used items in clear containers on the countertop. This helps keep the kitchen more organized. You can put frequently used items in these containers and move them around the countertop when cooking. This makes it easy to look for what you need when you are cooking.

The containers must have lids or covers that are easy to open. The lids or covers also must be easy to close.

Buy a Knife Holder

There is something about knives and cooking utensils that makes them seem incapable of being organized.

We put them in drawers and cabinets, but they end up all over the place, knife handles sticking out of pots and pans. For a while, we keep them in drawers, but after a while, the drawers fill up, and it’s even harder to keep everything organized.

Is there some trick to keeping them all in their proper places? Yes. It is to get a knife holder. Whenever you use a knife, you should make sure you put it back in its place in the kitchen and then cook or eat. That will help to ensure the kitchen stays in order.

Store the Rarely Used Items, Like Baking Pans in Storage Cabinets Below the Counter

If you’ve got a deep drawer in your kitchen, you can store seldom-used items like baking pans and cookie sheets there. You can now remove them when cooking and then return them to get them out of the way.

Other things such as aluminum foil, plastic wrap or parchment paper can be stored in a cabinet.

5 Easy Steps to More Organized Countertops

Use Jars

If you have a big kitchen, it can be a pain to keep everything organized. Paper towels, plastic wrap, napkins, and spice jars pile up on work surfaces. When you cook, you have to hunt around for things.

One solution is to buy lots of jars. You can then use the jars to store stuffs such as spices, pasta, beans, sugar, flour, tea, coffee, and ketchup. However, if your jars look the same, then you might get a bit confused. To avoid that make sure you label them and then arrange them properly in the kitchen.

Another solution is to organize your kitchen countertops. If you use tall, narrow jars, you can get several layers of jars taking up about the same amount of space as one long jar. You can fit more jars on one small shelf, and you don’t have to waste space on lids and labels.

Keep Cooking Grease Under Control

Another small but effective way to keep your countertops organized is to manage leftover cooking grease properly. Many people cook with oils, butter, or animal fats, but after cooking, they often leave greasy pans or containers sitting on the counter. This not only creates clutter but can also make the kitchen look messy and unhygienic.

A simple solution is to use a dedicated grease holder to collect and store leftover grease safely. Instead of pouring grease into random containers or leaving pans on the counter, you can store it neatly in one place until you are ready to dispose of it or reuse it for cooking.

Grease holders are designed with lids and strainers that help separate food particles from the grease, keeping the kitchen cleaner and preventing unnecessary spills on the countertop. Adding one to your kitchen setup can make cleanup faster and help maintain a more organized cooking space.

Conclusion

Organizing your kitchen countertops doesn’t have to be such a hard job as it usually is for most people. The good news is that there are a few tricks that you can apply to make the job easier. Above are some of the best ones you can use and we hope they will help you to organize your kitchen properly.
