Caramel Apple Skillet Ingredients:
Cake Ingredients:
- 1 Spice cake box
- 1 tsp apple pie spice
- 1 tsp allspice
Apple Mixture Ingredients:
- 4 medium Gala apples (cored, peeled, and chopped)
- ½ C sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
Topping Ingredients:
- ¼ C powdered sugar
- 2 Tbsp whole milk
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- ¼ C chopped pecans
Caramel Apple Skillet Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prep the cast iron skillet with nonstick baking spray.
Add the apple pie spice and allspice to the cake mix.
Whisk to combine.
Add the ingredients listed on the back of the cake box.
Mix all of the ingredients together.
Set aside.
Add the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir to combine.
Add the chopped apples tossing in the sugar mixture.
Pour half of the cake batter in the skillet.
Scoop half of the apple mixture on top of the cake batter in the skillet. Pour the remaining cake batter on top of the apple mixture.
Sprinkle the remaining apple mixture on top of the second layer of the cake batter.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
