About The Croods: A New Age:

The Croods have survived their fair share of dangers and disasters, from fanged prehistoric beasts to surviving the end of the world, but now they will face their biggest challenge of all: another family

The Croods need a new place to live. So, the first prehistoric family sets off into the world in search of a safer place to call home. When they discover an idyllic walled-in paradise that meets all their needs, they think their problems are solved … except for one thing. Another family already lives there: the Bettermans.

The Bettermans (emphasis on the “better”)—with their elaborate tree house, amazing inventions and irrigated acres of fresh produce—are a couple of steps above the Croods on the evolutionary ladder. When they take the Croods in as the world’s first houseguests, it isn’t long before tensions escalate between the cave family and the modern family.

Just when all seems lost, a new threat will propel both families on an epic adventure outside the safety of the wall, one that will force them to embrace their differences, draw strength from each other and forge a future together.

3 Reason to love The Croods: A New Age:

3 Reasons The Croods: A New Age is a Family Must-See Movie! #CroodsNewAge

I was so excited to get the honor of screening this fun new movie! I could write pages of all the reasons I loved The Croods: A New Age, but I’m focusing on my top 3 reasons I can’t wait to see it again!

1: Family is everything.

Grug (Nicolas Cage) the Crood family’s father sums up what I love most about the movie: family is everything.  He says “The Pack is stronger together. The Pack stays together!”  There are always obstacles to overcome, like another family, but together, families can do anything.  With COVID and the uncertain state of the world, family has been the center of my life.

When you’re not together physically, you aren’t together emotionally.

The future may not be what we expect, but we can handle it TOGETHER!

The Croods (from left): Thunk (Clark Duke), Gran (Cloris Leachman), Sandy (Kailey Crawford), Grug (Nicolas Cage), Ugga (Catherine Keener) and Eep (Emma Stone). The Bettermans (from near right): Phil (Peter Dinklage) and Hope (Leslie Mann).

2: Being different is OK

While the Croods believe in doing everything together, the Bettermans believe that privacy promotes individuality. When Thunk asks what privacy means, Guy says :”You only smell the feet you want to smell.”  But sleeping in a pile does have so many perks.  You’ll have to watch for yourself to find out!

Why The Croods: A New Age will Make your Family Smile! #CroodsNewAge

Our personalities, what makes us different, are OK.  Being yourself is colorful, fun and gives depth to your family The Croods help give us  a new way to look at life in our new normal world.  The Bettermans aren’t better, they are different.  Even Phil’s man cave is the opposite of the Croods way of life.  But it’s OK!

3: Love your tomorrow!

Guy thinks tomorrow is a place.  It’s home, it’s love, it’s kindness, it’s a person you love. Don’t let obstacles and your environment cloud the way for a beautiful life. Everyone has a different view of tomorrow.  Guy spent his life looking for tomorrow.  He realized that tomorrow is not a place, it’s Eep.

Thunk loves looking out the window of the Betterman’s treehouse.  He spends hours staring at the perfect view beyond. Thunk realizes that the wonderful window view of the world might be flawed, but he embraces it and finds his way back to his family.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind.

While the kind gesture of a travel basket seems innocent, we learn that the Bettermans want to trade Guy for the fruit basket.  No spoilers here… you’re going to love the punch monkeys….

My favorite quotes:

“Never apologize for an effective kill circle.”

“The Pack stays together.”

“I like not dying. she’s not like your, she’s not a cave girl.”
