Create A Comfortable, Colorful Space
Start by finding a spot in your home for their artistic space. Examples include a nook under the stairs or portion of their playroom. Their space should include age-appropriate furniture to keep them comfortable, and it should be colorful enough to inspire your children to be creative. You can paint the entire space in a colorful design or add a splash of color through accents.
Offer More Than Art Supplies
A space that encourages creativity should include a range of age-appropriate art supplies, such as paper, crayons, canvas, paint and Play-Doh. However, you can also offer more than just art supplies. Encourage your children to explore their surroundings by supplying items such as magnifying glasses, flashlights and microscopes. You can also include a world globe, world map and educational books.
Create An Exploration Station
