How Let’s Roam Works
This is an app based setup where you can enjoy adventures at home or you can explore cities around the world. The at home activities include a virtual game night or a scavenger hunt. both of these have you select your game night theme based on ages and topics. Solve riddles, answer questions, or perhaps snap a photograph of something blue. All the activities will have you laughing and enjoying the time together.
If you want to venture out and learn about the city or community, the scavenger hunt tour will start you off at a specific location. Then you will walk around the city, making discoveries, earning points for every challenge you complete. You’ll learn about the city and each other on a one-of-a-kind adventure. With over 350 locations around the world, this is a wonderful way to get out and find the must see locations as well as the hidden secrets in the area.
What to expect on a Let’s Roam Scavenger Hunt Tour
First off – It’s a tour. You will be led to the top sights and hidden gems for that city.
But it’s also a game. Along your walking route, you’ll solve riddles, answer trivia, learn fun facts, and conquer simple challenges.
Finally it is a great way to connect with others. All the tours are filled with photo worthy moments.
Other Let’s Roam Activities
In addition to the scavenger hunt tour and at home activities, other ideas and activities include team building skills, bachelorette party scavenger hunt, and a local bar hunt. Depending on your interest, there is something for everyone.
How to use Let’s Roam
Start off by visiting Let’s Roam and signing up for a free account. Once you go through the set up, you will be directed to download the app to your phone. The app is available in both the Google Play and Apple Store. Or you can have them text you a link to the app, which was the easiest when inviting others to join your activity.
Once set up, simply select the activity you wish to do. Each activity will need tickets which can be purchased through the app. When ready to start the adventure, just click on start and away you go. The app will provide you with the starting location (if on a scavenger hunt) so everyone can meet up and take off together. Each person in the group will have a “role to play”. These roles are the Explorer, Brainiac, Photographer, or children. Depending on the role you are assigned, you will have challenges or trivia to solve as you look for the next stop in the route.
My Thoughts
Finding things to do right now has been challenging. Our family is huge compared to most with 27 people when we all get together! One of the things the family likes to do is to get together in smaller groups each week. These scavenger hunts and bar hunts have been a real hit for the adult children. And the virtual game nights are really a hoot. Each family unit can be safe at home but we can still be together online. The trivia questions and challenges for a photo from around your home are so much fun. One of my crew recently discovered the ghost tour scavenger hunt and are already making plans for the group.
Personally, I was impressed with the locations on our local scavenger hunt tour. We have lived in the area for over 22 years and there were places I had never heard of or seen. And the local history learned was cool.
Now that school is back in session, whether you are schooling at home, remote, or a combination; getting out and connecting with others is super important. The activities on Let’s Roam offer ways to connect outside or from your own home. Within the app, there are daily challenges that are fun. You earn coins that can be applied towards activities and merchandise.

Activities are reasonably priced and you can purchase virtual tickets for a single activity or purchase a pass. I highly recommend the pass option as the best value. And if you are traveling to other locations, include a local tour in your schedule. What a great way to put some fun into learning!
