BioGlo Explorer + BaseLight Kit
Magical Microbes BioGlo Explorer is an hourglass-shaped aquarium that allows you to explore tiny microbes called dinoflagellates (a.k.a. dinos). The science of bioluminescence, this occurs through a chemical reaction that produces light energy within an organism’s body. The tiny dinos have the natural ability to absorb the sun’s rays during the day and emit a mysterious blue glow when shaken at night.

My Thoughts:
My son loves hands-on experiments; science kits, mixing and being able to see cause and effect with his own eyes. These microbes kits do just that. It was immediate gratification for him to order his Dinos and have a planned day to “hatch” them in his new aquarium. Making the “growth medium” Dino’s food is easy and a fun assignment for all ages.
We made our growth medium the morning our Dino’s were set to arrive. It’s simple to transfer your Dino’s into their new home. They took a couple of days to really start moving, we actually thought we didn’t have any live ones, but the directions ensured us to give them a couple of days to adjust to their new environment. Sure enough on day 3 we really sew some action, movement and we were able to track our new Dino’s.
The BioGlo app allows you to control the BaseLight device for an optimum experience. We set ours to cycle every evening along with our schedule of winding down. The aquarium is filled with science experiments at your fingertips. Change the light, temperature, measure the contaminants, collect data, how many microbes do you have. Endless data can be learned from your Dino’s and their environment. Overall we are very happy with our kit. t is no fuss and you don’t have to worry about feeding them as they only need food every few weeks. We can explore them when it is convenient and enjoy their beauty daily.
