Supplies Needed:

Upcycled Men_s Shirts Decoupage Planters

Men’s shirt (we found ours at a local thrift store)
Plastic or terra cotta flowerpot (we were lucky enough to find 3 at a thrift shop, but you can find them at the Dollar Tree)
Scissors and a ruler or a rotary cutter, a mat and ruler
*Mod podge and/or spray adhesive
Foam brush

How to make these fun Upcycled Men’s Shirts Decoupage Planters:

Step 1: Cut your shirt into sections. Cut away the shirt pockets and put aside. We saved the sleeves, buttons, and collars for future projects.

Step 2: Cut the shirts into strips that measure 9 inches long by 1” wide. The number of strips you cut will depend on the size of your pot.

Step 3: Apply the *mod podge in small sections on the flowerpot. Start on the inside lip of the pot and move down the side and stop under the bottom. [We found with the plastic, it was easier to use the spray adhesive for applying the fabric and then sealing it with the mod podge.]

Step 4: Repeat process until the pot is covered. Seal with a coat of mod podge and allow to dry completely.

Step 5: Trim any excess fabric from around the shirt pocket. Apply a coat of mod podge to the back of the pocket and place on the flowerpot. DO NOT apply a coat of mod podge to the front! If you do, you will seal the pocket and then you cannot use it as a pocket.
