About Thames and Kosmos
Founded in 2001 by a science museum director and her son, who saw the great need and demand for better science education materials — resources for parents and their children that are more engaging, more effective, more relevant, and more fun.
Thames & Kosmos operates as the exclusive arm of parent company, Franckh-Kosmos Verlags-GmbH & Co. KG — Kosmos for short — based in Stuttgart, Germany. Founded in 1822, Kosmos operated solely as a book publisher until the 1920s, when the company published its first science kits aimed at explaining the world of science to children and young adults by bringing it to life with hands-on experiments.

Rainbow Gummy Candy
This kit allows you to make fun gummy shapes like unicorns, clouds, and rainbows! Using the gelatin mixture and mold, you can create your own variations of color and flavors. You can even add citric acid to make sour gummies. And as a bonus to teach that learning can be fun, your kids will learn about the scientific properties of natural polymers as you cook up these one of a kind gummy shapes. This kit includes all the food ingredients needed for a
rainbow-gummy good time.
Making these gummy treats was fun. I do recommend using disposable cups and silverware. The gel starts setting up quickly and sticks to the utensils. So make sure you have everything ready before you mix the gel and pour it quickly into the molds. Once the molds are filled, set them in the fridge until the gel firms up. Note: We found it a challenge to get the gummy treats out of the molds the first few times. Not sure if the repeated use seasoned the molds, but after the third time they just popped out. The kit contains enough powder to make dozens of trays of gummy treats.

My Thoughts
As a mom I love toys that teach as well as provide entertainment. And all of these sets do that and more! I mean, who doesn’t like chewy gummy treats and building things?
The Rainbow Gummy Candy has hours of supplies and you can use other molds too. We made several designs using other candy molds that we have collected over the years. And they taste good! This really surprised me. They were not as sweet as I was expecting.
Magformers® have been a loved brand in our house for years. The little ones (and even not so little) enjoy building things. This mom likes that all the sets can be combined and used together. And while the little ones are playing, they are also learning about magnets, colors, shapes, and gravity.
