School is back in and with it comes the need to pack school lunches, and have snacks for after school as well. Plus breakfast needs to be healthy and easy to have a strong start to the busy day. Here is a round up of healthy school snacks that will have your kids counting down the minutes until they can open their lunch box and find out what is inside each day. These brands offer easy lunch and snack solutions with health being a priority! Get ready to find your new Go-To snack, lunch, and breakfast ideas.
Start Your Day On the Right Foot
We always hear breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and since it sets the tone for the rest of the day, I agree that it is. Sometimes time is short and life is too chaotic to make eggs and sausage or another home made meal. Then we find our kids either eating convenience junk, or sometimes not eating at all.
Barbara’s Organic Snackimals Cereal
Instead you can start their day with Barbara’s Organic Snackimals Cereal. This cereal is delicious and has 8g of whole grains per serving, and only 7g of sugar! It is USDA Organic, and is Non-GMO Project Verified. These yummy lions, elephants and bears come in chocolate or cinnamon and are good sources of fiber and calcium. I love these tasty animals and eat them for my breakfast as well. After all, why should the kids have all the good stuff?
Mikey’s
Mikey’s Breakfast Pockets are another great, quick solution. Pop them in the microwave and in two minutes flat your kids will have a gooey, delicious meal. They are Certified Paleo-Friendly, Certified Gluten-Free, and free from grains, soy, and dairy. You can get Ham, Egg, & Cheese, Egg & Cheese, plus Mikey’s Pizza Pockets for after school snacks. These are so good, you cannot even tell they are gluten-free. My children ate these up in no time at all. Mikey’s Breakfast Pockets are brand new and just launched in stores this month. Mikey’s also offers English muffins, regular muffins, and soft tortillas, and bread which are all grain-free!
Kidz Superfood
Another super start to the day is from Amazing Grass. They offer Kidz Superfood Protein and Probiotics shakes. I scoop a spoonful into a glass of milk or almond milk (to get a dairy free shake) and mix it up. You can also blend it up with ice in a blender to make a great smoothie. These shakes are full of protein, offer 1/2 cup equivalent of leafy greens, fruit and veggies, and 1 billion CFUs Probiotics. I really like the chocolate variety and drink it at night as a dessert because I am eating better. While the family eats dessert I have my chocolate shake and feel like I am still getting dessert, but mine is healthy! This is the perfect way to get your picky eaters to have the veggies and stuff they might not otherwise eat.
School Snacks To Make Lunches With Ease
Angelic Bakehouse Garden Wraps
After a healthy breakfast, let the smart choices continue in their lunch boxes. Instead of bread you can pack some Angelic Bakehouse Garden Wraps for their lunch. My daughter loves the beet wraps with provolone melted inside as a cheesy roll up. I prefer the tumeric and sweet potato wrap with some cold cuts, and spinach. However you use it, these wraps offer 7 sprouted whole grains that are Non-GMO, kosher, vegan, dairy-free, soy-free, nut-free, egg-free, and HFCS-free. They are packed with great taste and great nutrition!
BOS
Since my kids get bored of water, I love these BOS iced teas. They pack easily into a lunch box, and are filled with some really awesome ingredients. Every flavor has Organic Rooibos tea extract in it, as well as natural flavoring and Organic Cane Sugar. These teas are hands down a healthy alternative to soda and other artificial drinks. Plus these flavorful drinks are naturally caffeine free and full of antioxidants.
Probar
BOS pairs well with a Probar as a lunch on the run, or a pick me up snack before an after school activity. Probars provide fruit, seeds, and nuts to make a delicious meal or snack.. Its raw ingredients provide lasting energy and nourishment. There is a smaller Probar Bite that is only 4 grams of sugar, and 140-150 calories. It is the perfect lunch box companion and will offer convenient, organic superfoods on the go. You can get Mixed Berry, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Coconut Almond flavors. I love the versatility of these Bite Bars. Pack them in the kid’s backpack in case they need a school snack, carry them in your purse, or pocket. They are a dense snack that will keep you satisfied for a while. You could eat them as breakfast too, if you are in a time crunch.
Barbara’s Cheese Puffs
For those who love cheese puffs, but do not love the crazy added colors and junk, fear not, Barbara’s has you covered! Barbara’s Cheese Puffs are crunchy, cheesy, and oh so good. They are made with non-GMO corn, and are bursting with the flavors of real cheese. Most importantly they are gluten-free and wholesome. There are several flavors including: Original, Jalapeno, Baked Original, Baked White Cheddar, and Baked Multigrain Cheddar Jack. We all really loved these Cheese Puffs, and they make an ideal school snack!
Tofurky
Tofurky Deli Slices are the perfect addition to the kids’ lunchboxes. They are plant-based, and taste great. Most noteworthy is the positive impact this product makes on people, animals, and the planet! You can pick between Peppered, Hickory Smoked, Bologna, Italian, and Roast Beef. I like to roll my Tofurky up with cheese, and my daughter likes to wrap hers up in an Angelic Garden Wrap. Plus we really like to say the name, Tofurky!
Elmhurst 1925 Single Serve Milked Oats
For a milk alternative that is shelf stable with no refrigeration needed, get Elmhurst 1925 Single Serve Milked Oats. They offer 28g of whole grain per serving and are made with only 5 simple ingredients. You know exactly what you are giving your children with these drinks that are oats, water, cane sugar, natural flavors, and salt. You will not have to worry about them getting warm and going bad, and they taste great!
Country Archer Original Mini Beef Sticks
My son’s favorite lunch box snack is Country Archer Original Mini Beef Sticks. These beef sticks are made with real ingredients including 100 percent grass-fed beef. They are free of nitrates, gluten, MSG, antibiotics, and added hormones. The size makes them perfect school snacks to carry in a pocket, book bag, purse, or lunch box for fuel whenever it is needed. We carried them around a theme park a few weeks ago, and used them to keep our energy up with all the walking we had to do. They are high protein and delicious!
Bare Snacks
Bare Snacks are a great compliment for the Mini Beef Sticks because they are fruit chips. Now you can have fruit and protein as a well balanced after school snack or in a lunch box. Bare Snacks bake fruits, coconuts, and veggies into crunchy chips. They are a healthy snack that is baked, and have no added sugar, no fat, and no preservatives. They are Non-GMO Project Verified real fruit. Your kids will enjoy the crunch and boosted brainpower from Fuji Apple Chips, Banana Chip, Coconut Chips, and many more. The crunch of these fruit chips are so satisfying they make it hard to stop eating. They are so delightful all around!
Green Superfood Hydrate Effervescent
Hydration is important, and with Green Superfood Hydrate Effervescent from Amazing Grass you can keep the kiddos hydrated all day long. Just pop a Strawberry Lemonade or Watermelon Lime effervescent into their water bottle. You will be happy to know they are drinking more than 30 antioxidant superfoods, fresh farm greens, electrolytes, and vitamins with each tablet. This will help them remain refreshed and feel great every day. These tablets will turn their water into a fizzy fun drink that is so good for them, but they do not have to know how healthy it really is!
34 Degrees Sweet Crisps
Obviously no lunch or snack is complete without something sweet. Since we do not want to load our children up with too much sugar, get 34 Degrees Sweet Crisps. These wafer crisps have a lower sugar content that will satisfy a sweet tooth without guilt. They come in Chocolate, Vanilla, Cinnamon, and Lemon. My favorite is vanilla and I love to eat them by the handful, or with my coffee. My kids love the chocolate and like to stick them in ice cream, and eat them plain. They are easy to bag up and put in lunches for school snacks, or the kids can eat them when they get home.
Keeping It Clean With Counter Culture
With all this clean eating, we need to think about a clean environment to eat in. Counter Culture Probiotic All-Purpose Cleaner will keep the house, lunch boxes, and backpacks clean with no harmful chemicals. It is powered by good bacteria and their beneficial compounds which break down dirt and grease. They are free from man-made chemicals, colors, allergens, and fake fragrance. Instead they are scented with essential oils and are simple and pure!
Now you have an extensive list of many great additions to your school lunch routine. Get a few or get them all, you cannot go wrong with any of them. They are tested and approved in my home. My kids love them, and I am a fan as well. In fact I went through a Bare bag of Cinnamon Apple Chips while I worked on this round up of great school snacks.
